1 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2009

I was involved in a rear end collision in my 2007 Ford Focus st. I was at a stop light and was rear ended by a tractor trailer traveling at approximately 20 - 25 mph. Upon impact the upper half of my drivers seat gave way causing my upper body to fall onto the lower part of the rear seat. It appeared the recliner mechanism gave out during the impact. This was something I was not prepared for. I was now in a position where my head was fully exposed to the on coming truck. There are multiple front safety features and only the seat back for rear safety features. If someone was sitting in the back seat behind my drivers seat they would have been seriously injured. I sent Ford motor company information regarding my concern with the reclining mechanism in December of 2009, on April 16, 2010 or there about Ford issued a recall for the exact concerns I had with my vehicle. However, my vehicle was not listed in the recall. This concerns me.
