general problems of the 2010 Ford Focus

On June 22 myself and my wife were pulling out of the food lion parking lot. As we proceeded out to the main road the gas pedal stuck. The car kept accelerating and know matter what I did I could free the gas pedal. Because of that we hit 3 cars in the intersection. Our car literally exploded putting myself and my wife in the hospital . My wife has had 3 surgeries for a broken pelvis. She is still in serious condition. Myself I suffered 3 broken ribs and a lacerated liver. Ford should be held accountable for our terrible pain and suffering. ?.

[xxx] were driving in their 2010 Ford Focus and attempted to stop at a sign. The vehicle would not stop and accelerated. The shepherd were in a crisis. The vehicle jumped a railroad track, flipped, and landed in an embankment. [xxx] airbag (passenger) did not deploy. When traveling in reverse at a very slow speed (between 1 & 4 mph) the car continues to travel for about a second or two while depressing the brake. This has happened intermittently since the car was purchased new from the dealer. It is more likely to happen when the car has been sitting and/or when it is cold outside, but can happen other times. It is fairly infrequent. I have had a Ford dealership check it, but nothing was ever found. It continues to happen from time to time and happened recently. My concern is that this usually occurs in a parking lot when backing out of a space. If a person or car comes behind me while I am reversing, the brakes may not immediately work when I try to stop suddenly.

I've replaced my motor mounts three times within 4 months. My car still is shaking, my heat and air only works on the right side, under my hood sounds like a ticking noise. This is all while parked. Please tell me what I can do.

My son was driving in the car pool lane when the car came to an abrupt stand still. It turns out the compressor failed and threw its parts all over the engine compartment damaging parts of the engine. When the engine failed, he lost braking and steering abilities. Compressors do not last forever. However, when a compressor quits working that should be the extent of the failure. This compressor failed and basically came apart. The car not working in the middle of a car pool lane put my son and his wife in danger as there was no where to get out and no way to move the car.

This vehicle is part of the national fleet owned by the us postal service. The driver was trying to come to a complete stop at an intersection. The engine began revving as the driver was applying the brakes. The additional acceleration made it impossible to stop causing the Focus to collide into the rear of the vehicle stopped ahead. The Focus engaged the stopped vehicle once, pushed it ahead, then engaged it a second time. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership where nothing was found to be wrong. This incident is consistent with past complaints filed with NHTSA for same model year Ford Focus vehicles.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Focus. The contact stated what while driving 25 mph, and applying the brakes, the vehicle began to shake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection but they were unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer wa notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000. Updated 01/23/lj the consumer stated along with the brakes squeaking, she had to put the vehicle in park, when coming to a stop. The consumer was informed the problem was in the engine. Update 01/24/14.

The contact also had to replace the brakes and struts, because the vehicle pulled to the right when the brakes were applied. The failure mileage was 10 and the current mileage 15,506.
