Seat Belt problem #5

Rear passenger side seat belt does not retract properly. The seat belt has barely been used over the life of the vehicle, so this is not a wear issue. Took vehicle to Ford dealer in washington, mo, and they stated the seat belt mechanism would need to be replaced--cost was about $500. Too much for a seat belt that barely gets used.

The driver's side seat belt was replaced, but was not covered under any type of warranty.

Seat Belt problem #18

When I start the car initially I can't turn the wheel of the car. I have to tug on it to get it to turn eventually. I'm afraid that I'll be driving in the power steering will go out. Also have been having troubles with the transmission slipping. They say my car has too many miles to qualify for the clutch recall that Ford has put out. I don't see what this has to do with a malfunction saying I've had troubles with it since I bought this car. Both of these issues are safety issues. I have no money to replace this stuff. So I don't understand why Ford won't work with people on this there needs to be a recall on the steering as I seen many others complaining about it. And they need to suck it up and take the expenditure of replacing all of these crutches that they have a recall on regardless of mileage. Sometimes my seatbelt comes loose after I clicked it. I have to latch it while trying to drive. I'm tired of this car. I'll never buy from Ford again. I've been having problems with this car since I bought it. And have informed the dealership that we bought it from and they clean there is nothing wrong with it period after taking it too but it's going to cost me $3,000.

I could handle the studder and handle the being held hostage by my seat belt, but now I have to pay $1,800 to get my steering fix after almost hitting a tree with my family in the car. I was just about to upgrade to a escape, I will never buy Ford again after this because I have 89000 on my car they will help with nothing. Nor do they care about the safety of me and my family or the other people around me ! I have never been so disappointed. I truly loved this little car until it tried to kill me.

Seat Belt problem #29

After having the car repaired from a recall, the 6th time for repair; the car broke down and had to be towed to the dealership. The transmission control module is out now and it is in the shop for the 7th time related to the same issue. I consider this car dangerous and will ultimately cause an accident or death. Why are you not doing anything about this issue. It is for all 2012 Ford Focus vehicles.

Seat Belt problem #30

Three of my 4 door latches stopped functioning completely. They did not work whether the car was stationary, in motion, driving, or turning. We had to tie the door handles to each other from the inside to keep them from flying open while driving. When you pushed them shut from the outside, they would bounce back open. This also caused constant warning lights/sounds from the dash. Ford stated there was a recall, but ours were not covered because my 4 door latches were packaged as a 4 pack whereas the serial numbers for the recalled latches were sold in individual packaging. So therefore, I was not covered due to a loop hole. The doors not shutting properly (ever) caused water to leak in and cause other problems such as the window motor shorting out. I reached out to corporate and customer service and was told they would not pay for the repairs. I paid for the repairs out of pocket because I had to.

Seat Belt problem #31

2012 Ford Focus. Driver seatbelt got stuck. Could not get out of the car. Took over 15 minutes before I could finally get it to disengage. Now it wont engage. The metal tongue goes in but does not catch. The seatbelt warning continues even when I hold it inside the clasp. I am nervous and distracted now with the seatbelt not working. This for me is a serious safety concern.

Seat Belt problem #32

On January 27th. . My car (2012 Ford Focus se 4door 5 speed) my car had 33,342 miles on it once it came into the service bay at asheville Ford in asheville nc. I was advised that the car would have to stay for the day and look into the situation. Car would die at random, lights would come on like a christmas tree (oil pressure light, battery light, traction light, esc light, information light, check engine light) and a message would appear (engine malfunction service now). Asheville Ford was also notified of a sun visor popping, seat belts not releasing and creaking noises in the b pillars on both sides, and the ac was blowing hot air again (this was repaired on the 23rd before and already blowing hot air).

Seat Belt problem #33

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the motor mounts fractured. As a result, the engine dropped and damaged the axle and cvc joint. In addition, the contact stated that the passenger's side seat belt was constantly becoming stuck preventing the passenger from exiting the vehicle in a timely fashion. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 92,000.

Seat Belt problem #34

Rear passenger seat belt has been extended while placing on child and will not go back in.

Seat Belt problem #35

The driver's side seat belt tongue wouldn't go into the buckle like normal. It took a lot of effort to shove it in, and have it actually click. Then separating the parts of the buckle was also difficult. Sometimes it's easier to get it to work, and other times it feels like I'm having a wrestling match. We took it to the Ford dealership when we were having problems with the power train, and they told us it would cost $55 just to look at it. There is nothing jammed inside the buckle, but feels more like the inside hook isn't reacting correctly to the tongue. There is also a frayed edge to the seat belt buckle that makes it look really cheap. I'm pretty sure that with it being a safety feature that it shouldn't cost us anything, and they should be taking this seriously because it most likely is a defective part they issued. I guess they don't care about our safety over making a quick buck off of us.

Seat Belt problem #36

I was trying to get out of my vehicle and the seat belt would not unlatch itself, I tried everything I could, it would not release, until I yanked it out, now it will not latch always and will not unlatch.

Seat Belt problem #37

I purchased this vehicle in November of 2012 and was never forewarned about the issues they had. The transmission has been fixed numerous times but continues to clip, shudder, jerk, and shake. I had to go to durham a year and a half ago and was almost involved in a bad accident when the vehicle started to roll back on an incline while in drive. I have come close to many accidents though due to this car, mostly because the transmission hangs up so bad. I have to constantly pull into either a parking lot or the center turn lane when I am in heavy stop and go traffic because the transmission stops pulling. I normally have to turn the vehicle off and sit there for a few minutes before it resets itself and I can go on my way. Recently I was in the mountains and the rpms kept hanging up at 4,000 rpm going up and down the pass. I had to keep hitting the brakes and hitting the gas in order to resolve this issue. With semi trucks behind you this is very disconcerting. I also was stuck in heavy stop and go traffic on the interstate in the middle lane and the transmission was trying to quit. Last year the seat belt buckle broke and I could not get it to unlatch, this past summer the ac was not blowing out of the vents, had to take multiple trips to the shop to get it diagnosed, and eventually fixed both blend door actuators. The chrome plating started peeling off on the steering wheel this past year at only 40,000 miles and almost cut my hand multiple times. It took them two tries to fix that. My gas mileage is not even what is advertised for these vehicles. In town I get 22 to 25 and on the highway I get 26 to 29 mpg. This car is ridiculous! Ford will not even acknowledge the issues that it has, instead the transmission is within normal operating parameters, the rest of it well as the customer service lady stated to me "all cars have issues".

Seat Belt problem #38

Left rear seat belt buckle not bolted to the chasis.

Seat Belt problem #39

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the rear seat belts would lock whenever the seat was occupied, making it uncomfortable for the passenger. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that it the seat belts met safety standards and they could not provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 40. The VIN was unavailable.

Seat Belt problem #40

While stopped behind red light all screen system, sync system, radio including sound system went black. Did not start over till next day in the morning and as soon as start the car errors after error came up for nav system, phone connection. Had to reset every thing. These errors are coming up every day. There will be risk of losing other system including air bag, power steering, break and other important system while this system going off. Took the car to dealer and service trained specialist told me that is my phone problem!!! after long drive when trying to take off car is shaking, there is big safety issue with seat belt. While driving, if for any reason unlock the seat belt there will be no warning light or warning sound that seat belt is off. If car is running and leave the car when you are back and start driving there will be no warning light and sound that seat belt is not in use and can drive all you want. After long drive while trying to take off car is shaking.

Seat Belt problem #41

I bought this car Ford Focus se 2012 in July 2011 and the day after that I felt and heard weird noises and vibration when automatic transmission changed gears. I went to the dealer and I was told that the car was operating within Ford specification so it was normal and after a few miles it will desapear. It continue getting worse. At 2500 miles I went to the dealer again but they said again that the car was operating within Ford specification. At 6500 miles the weird noises and vibration were still there and service engine light turned on suddenly and the gears didn't shift. The car was towed to the dealer and they told me that the computer didn't record any error or problem and that the car was operating within Ford specifications. After some delay they changed the dual clutch in the transmission but it was worse. At that time the car had the same weird noises and vibrations and shakes a lot while idling. I applied lemon law and an independent mechanic tested the car and saw and felt the problem. I went to the arbitration in better business bureau and they tested the car too and saw and felt the problem. The person from Ford didn't go to the arbitration, they were on the phone. I won the case and this next Monday February 6, 2012 I have to go to the dealer to receive my money back and return the car. I live in florida and I applied lemon law in this car. This Ford Focus se 2012 is a lemon car. About the seat belt problem, when I'm driving, if I unbuckle the seat belt, the warning light doesn't light on until about 1 mile later. Also after I first start the car, if I wait for about 10 minutes with the seat belt unbuckled, the warning light turn of and if I drive the car with the seat belt unbuckled, warning light doesn't light on for about 1 mile. I think this is a safety problem too. Gbya :).
