Wheel problem #1

Cannot change my tires due to swollen lug nuts. Because of this my tires have not been able to be rotated and will need to be replaced because of too much wear. Several mechanics have had difficulty getting them off and on and have said that I need to purchase replacements because Ford lug nuts are notoriously bad. If I were to get a flat tire, I would be stranded.

Wheel problem #2

Two part lug nuts experience swelling over time and make removal of the lugs very difficult and may result in the lugs not being adequately tight when the wheel is put back on. The dealer confirmed that this is a known problem and when they repair this issue, they use an after market lug that is not a two part lug, and therefore doesn't have the swelling issue. I was not aware of this problem till my most recent annual inspection and when I expressed surprise, the dealer mechanic stated that even though Ford is well aware of this issue, Ford will not cover this item and its the owner's problem.

Wheel problem #3

Flat tire while parked. Vehicle stranded in driveway. Lug wrench that came with the vehicle does not fit lug nuts. Unable to remove wheel to install spare. Tried using socket wrench. Could not find a socket that fit. Tried the following sockets: 3/4", 13/16, 19mm, 21mm. The lug nut size is something in between these. The lug wrench that came with the vehicle is 3/14 and fits the wheel lock adapter that came with the vehicle.

Wheel problem #4

When a transmission recall was corrected I was advised that the lug nuts were warping and needed to be replaced. Substandard lug nuts should be covered by the manufacturer.

I went to them with my complaint and they won't help me . I have prove with pictures and paperwork to back my situation up. What am I to do?.

Ive had my lug nuts swallon and unable to change my own tire. On three different occasions. Nail in my tire. The power train clutch has been replaced 4 times in the last three in a half years. Ive had my car stall out in me several times at a stop light. It takes it a minute to slip into reverse. Doesnt matter what gear you are switching it from it will go into netural/park before clicking into reverse.

Wheel problem #11

11/4/15 my wife while driving in her work parking lot at a speed of approximately 10 mph experienced a tire blowout on the left front tire. The blowout caused a small tear in the tire at the seam where the sidewall joins the tread. We could find no evidence of anything other than a defect in the tire which could have attributed to the blowout. It was accompanied by a loud noise and immediately losing all air pressure in the tire. The tire is a continental contipro contact size 215/55 r 16 93h | dot number cnb3 wbpc 0615.
