My power steering went out without giving me warning messages first, this happened last week 01/07/21. It's reading "steering loss".
My vehicle started all of the sudden to make some noises after the engine is off and the headlights are turning on on their own. We were told the battery is low , which we replaced but the vehicle still does the same. Vehicle was parked when we first noticed.
Car started trying to shut off randomly and accelerated and decelerated, then car wouldn't start was told the clutch was stuck sounds like a recall I saw online.
Vehicle hesitates, stutters and stalls when accelerating at any speed. The dealership told us it is either a transmission module or fuel module problem. They don’t have parts to fix it. There’s been a recall and a lawsuit about this same year, make and model, but they tell us our VIN is not included in any of this. It continues to do this to this day. The dealership wants us to drop it off and leave it for 3 to 4 weeks. We can’t be without a car so we are struggling with it. We wrote Ford motor company a letter and they told us to contact you. The lawsuit that they lost, gave us an extended warranty, but they refuse to honor it.
Manufacturer recall #18s32 NHTSA recall #18v735 I was driving home from work. I was probably about a mile and half away from my work. I was approaching a red light and began to slow down and prepare to stop. All of a sudden, the display shows "not in drive" when it obviously was or I wouldn't be moving. . . Next thing, lights/electronics were flickering and car just turned off in drive. What was really scary and almost costed me my life was my hazards were not displaying to surrounding drivers there were a few times when I got yelled or honked at but 1 or 2 times I almost got ran over. . . . After my friend came to help me push it out of road, he got it in park, restarted and got car starting again. . . . We took the car to our family mechanic and he took a look at it. He was going to charge me a lot for the part needed to get fixed. Which brought me to go see if I can find a part for cheaper or a mechanic for cheaper. That's when I discovered about this VIN and car recall.
My vehicle's make/model/year (2016 Ford Focus) has a reported recall for a serious safety hazard involving the powershift dual clutch transmission. Online, it states that model years 2012-2016 Ford Focus vehicles have this issue. This type of transmission is considered a manual transmission that is controlled electronically by a computer while using a dry clutch rather than a wet one, meaning oil is not supplied to the shifting mechanism and can result in increased wear and tear the longer the issue persists. When the computer module that operates the transmission can't handle rapid acceleration or speed shifting, the vehicle will sputter and make an audible noise. Other issues that can be caused are problems with downshifting, leaving the vehicle in a higher gear despite deceleration and cause it to "lurch". The main safety hazard this issue causes is when accelerating quickly into an intersection, the delay prevents the vehicle from reaching the same speed a vehicle should achieve with an automatic transmission. In terms of deceleration, the car's inability to correctly downshift caused the vehicle to lunge forward, despite the brakes being applied.
When shifting into reverse, backup camera for 2016 Ford Focus se frequently displays as "camera unavailable" or displays an image too dark to decipher.
My car feels like it's jerking.
Car is only 4 years and it's sputters, loses acceleration and finally died. Does not go in reverse. Transmission shot.
It rained, and car stopped. No motive power. A red warning, "stop safely now" message on dash. Towed to dealership. There was a technical service bulletin 20-2004 to put on a splash shield to keep the 318volt (high!) connector from being hit by water, but the dealership just put on a big 350 amp fuse and put the car back in service. The fuse blew due to water intrusion. Treated a side effect, not the main problem. They refused to do what was in TSB 20-2004 & fsa 16b02. The attached picture shows how close the tire is to the high voltage battery connector! Ford knows this, but no recall, and dealership refuses to fix.

Earlier in January, I was driving down interstate 70 from kansas city to st. Louis at the rate of 77 mph. All of a sudden the car dings and sends a message on the dash "engine failure" and the car literally shuts down. I had no control over the car, no lights, no brakes, nothing! luckily I got to the shoulder of the road safely and finally came to a stop. I put the car in park and turned the key off. Still nothing. . . I waited about 5 minutes and then turned the car back on and thankfully it started. I drove it to the nearest place to have them run a diagnostic test and nothing came up. Finally got it home. It's not done this again, but now it runs rough. Like really rough. I've had the transmission clutch fixed once already. Luckily it was still under warranty. I will be contacting my local Ford dealer about this issue. Was unaware it was under recall.
Transmission module was going 60 car when to 30 mph, car can go in rev was informed by dealer. Car wont start on cold or warm days not battery, clicks after trying to start and turn off.
The update was done on the pcm due to vehicle not starting and fuel gage saying empty when I knew it had more than half tank. Now it is doing the same thing only worse. It worries me that this has cause my ignition to go bad as well due to this recall.
The transmission seems like it is slipping and not going into gear. When I try to put I put the car into reverse and push gas peddle it does not go, but when I put in drive it moves. The car only has 45,xxx miles. When I start the car a bunch of clicking sounds come from the motor, and when I turn the car off it makes a bunch of weird clicking sounds also.

It smelled like how you use the heater for the first time during cold weather. I checked the gauges to make sure I was not over heating. I had no warning lights pop on and my temp gauge was normal. I than started seeing smoke coming from the side of the hood. I pulled over on the side of the road and got out. The entire car under neath was on fire. I immediately got away from the car and waited for the fire department and police to come.

The transmission clutch sticks and if not repaired car will stop running; car dealer stated it will be over $2200 to be remedied. This happens on the roadway while driving: car hesitated before going into gear. Even when I'm motion it will back down and slow up. The ignition over years and needs to cool down before the car restarts.
Overheating.
Driving to work all instrument lights came on, rpm and speedometer dropped to 0, milage turned to -----, followed by message steering assist failure, followed by transmission failure service now message, I pulled over to the side of the road. Turned off the engine to see if messages would clear. Would not restart, not in park message came on. I disconnected the battery to try to reset the car, car started and allowed me to shift into park, but would not shift into drive. I turned off the car and disconnected the battery a second time. Started the car put it into drive the car moved all instrument lights except the engine light went off. Drove the car to the dealer. The dealer found the following codes u1013:00:68 & u0101:00:68 replaced the tcm all codes were cleared. They road tested it to verify it was fine. A week later this all happened again, except I was stopped. I turned off the car, it would not start a new message ignition failure came on. I had to have the car towed to the dealer where it has been for 2 days. No update as to what is wrong.

Car will not shift and stalls speed omiter goes to 0. Car cut off while driving lights say hill start not available.
Sometime while accelerating the car will randomly go from 2k rpm to over 6k rpm but you cant here the engine and it loses power and starts to jerk violently. Once you release gas and the rpm's go back down to 2k then you can try to accelerate again. I thought this issue was just because it was cold the 1st time it happened but now it is happening more frequently. I've only had this car for little under a year and it has less then 20k miles on it.
