general problems of the 2016 Ford Focus - part 2

I believe it was the fuel system that failed. The safety of myself, my child, and other drivers was at risk. The Ford dealer I spoke to said my vehichle is not affected by the recall that causes this issue (18s32). The auto center I took the car to could not reproduce the incident. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance. The check engine light was on at the time of the incident. I was at a stop at an intersection. When I was ready to proceed, I pressed the accelerator and the engine died. Pressing the gas did nothing. I was partially through the intersection where cross traffic does not stop when this happened. I turned the car off and back on and was able to get the car moving. This happened twice that night. The auto shop checked for error codes and found the following: p1450 no dtc definition found, p2195 O2 sensor signal biased, and p0507 idle air control system revolutions per minute higher than expected. The auto center suggested I take the car back to the dealer for inspection as they can not diagnose. I fear for my family's safety while driving. I feel this problem is caused by the excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management system (recall 18s32).

Unknown, the car stalls and the engine misfires. The check engine light comes on after that. While driving, the car suddenly stalls without warning. This has happen on multiple occasions.

My 2016 Ford Focus shakes when accelerating from a stop. From the 2nd to 3rd rpm, it stalls and vibrates and sometimes jerks backwards. I have taken it to the dealership and they won't look at since its out of warranty. This has been happening for a couple of months.

The failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.

A code of p0086 fuel rails system pressure too low appears when starting a warm engine and the car stalls while accelerating. The check engine light doesn’t come on until after multiple attempts of starting the engine. The rear passenger seatbelt starts to fray and the buckle cuts into it.

My car has 47,000 miles and the transmission went bad. The transmission does not shift to the first gear or 3 gear. According to local mechanic.

I was driving down the interstate and the car died with no warning. I was able to get to side of road and checked to see what was going on. Nothing looked weird. I started the ignition and the car started right back up. I took it to mechanic but could not find anything. It happened a again a few weeks later. No check engine light or any warning lights ever came on.

Driving down the road when the transmission clutch suddenly stopped shifting, and it felt like it slammed on the brakes, when it didn't shift. Took it to Ford they said their is a recall on that part but not for my vehicle. I contacted Ford. Com and they said the same thing.

Engine recently came on, and the codes are saying factory recall.

The transmission slips and jerks at 4000 rpm's from acceleration and transmission does not go into reverse sometimes and over heats after 2 minutes of driving. It's available to be looked at. The car would not accelerate in the middle of driving on the highway. Just revs over 5000 rpm's. I took it to a transmission shop and they said it was the clutch which was going to be $3,000 to fix. My husband and my children have to experience the whiplash it gives you from the hard shifting. Also have to push it backward in neutral just to go anywhere because it has no reverse most of the time. There is a warning message on the dash that says transmission overheating wait 5 minutes and the check engine light is always on. They first appeared at 87,000 miles and it is horrible on gas I need to pay 20 dollars every 2 days just to go to work and back which I'm only work 15 minutes away. I have called my dealer no call back. I have called Ford no call back. I even called the warranty place cause they sent me a notice and they said to call my dealer but they never called back.

I bought a 2016 Ford Focus in October of 2017 it just stopped running about a month ago I took it to a mechanic and he said the transmission was "done" I am severly confused I have kept up on all oil changes for 3 years I started experiencing some engine misses I have done the research and I know that the transmission on this make and model has been defective I still owe on this car , ii cant get anyone from Ford to communicate with me to fix this issue the car is only 3 years old with 90,000 miles I bought the car with 60,000 miles I am seeking help to fix a manufacturer problem.

When we receive heavy rain the right side of my sunroof and the passenger plastic roof trim are leaking major amounts of water into my car. I had a puddle about 3 inches deep in my front passenger floor and a puddle of water in the rear passenger floor boards as well. When researching the issue it's clear numerous Ford Focus owners are having the same issue with no fix from Ford. I was told to keep it in a covered area which I do not have.

The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was available. The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

Vehicle manufactured 06/2016. Vehicle has shuttered when accelerating from a stop since purchase in fall 2016. I have brought the vehicle to the dealer for this and they informed me there is nothing they can do about it, it is just the way the 2016 Ford Focus is built. On 31 August 2020 the vehicle was off in a parking spot. When I turned the vehicle on and shifted into reverse, to back out, the vehicle would not move and the service engine light is came on. When I put the vehicle in reverse the dashboard indicator reads r and the back up camera activates but the tires do not spin and the vehicle does not move. To back out of a parking space I have to push the vehicle out. I have driven the vehicle approx 30 miles since this happened and the shuttering is much worse than before. When starting to move from a stop the vehicle struggles for about 5 seconds before acceleration. Vehicle is at 82,395 miles.

The automatic transmission fails - it is not sifting speeds.

When the vehicle is in motion on city streets or the highway, my vehicle has erratic shifting, even barely moving from a stopped position. When accelerating slowly after being at a red light, the driver can lightly touch the gas pedal and the Ford will shift gears and feel as though the back tires are jumping or spinning out.

Had a few incidents where if you forget to hit the shut off button to the ecoboost that will shut your engine off during a stop light/traffic stop to save gas, it would completely stall the engine out when pulling out of a parking lot. Only had two incidents of this,of course I've always chose to push the button to save the starter. But then right after the warranty ran out, the engine started to leak coolant making one think it was a blown gasket by the white smoke. As I researched I've found forums that stated that it was common. But only the rs series had a recall and not the standard. But if it's the same components then why am I told only the rs should have the recall? but anyways my engine is unrepairable, cause after the first repair it did the same thing. If a vehicle that costs so much won't last until a 100,000 then why sell it? it just doesn't make sense.

Odometer is off by 50,000 miles and has been altered.

I have had the clutch in this vehicle replaced 3 times and it currently has 37014 miles. I have had the steering wheel replaced because the heated steering wheel didn't work. I had the transmission module reprogrammed 3 times. And now my backup camera suddenly turns pitch black. It's random. I could just go into reverse and it is already pitch black. Or I could be reversing with a clear screen and then it turns pitch black.

I just recently bought a car and it has been stalling while driving and having difficulty starting/revving itself up after I fill the gas tank. I have taken it to a shop to get a diagnosis and they said that it might have been the recall for the gas tank. Well, I looked up to see if my car had already gotten fix for the recall and it said that it did. So it might have happened again, and I'm not quite sure what to do. It happens every so often. As the engine light also comes on and off. When the light is off, the car is perfectly fine, but when it's on, it tries to stall.

I was involved in a spin out due to rainy weather on Monday April 6th, 2020. The car ended up hitting the concrete divider in the center of the freeway in access of 55 mph and the airbags did not deploy, even though the vehicle had frontal/ side impacts. I was unharmed in the event, but it is concerning to me, as my car was totaled and the frame warped around the engine.

Earlier in January, I was driving down interstate 70 from kansas city to st. Louis at the rate of 77 mph. All of a sudden the car dings and sends a message on the dash "engine failure" and the car literally shuts down. I had no control over the car, no lights, no brakes, nothing! luckily I got to the shoulder of the road safely and finally came to a stop. I put the car in park and turned the key off. Still nothing. . . I waited about 5 minutes and then turned the car back on and thankfully it started. I drove it to the nearest place to have them run a diagnostic test and nothing came up. Finally got it home. It's not done this again, but now it runs rough. Like really rough. I've had the transmission clutch fixed once already. Luckily it was still under warranty. I will be contacting my local Ford dealer about this issue. Was unaware it was under recall.

Transmission module was going 60 car when to 30 mph, car can go in rev was informed by dealer. Car wont start on cold or warm days not battery, clicks after trying to start and turn off.

I have an issue with transmission slipping and car be stalling and I had it repaired two months ago and it's just recently started doing the same thing transmission slipping and over heating and it's stalling while driving and I had to turn off the car for a minute and when I put it in drive the dash board warning ⚠️ transmission overheating pull over safety and I had it repaired two times the first time I had an issue with the transmission the car wouldn't move at all when put the vehicle in drive.

2016 Ford Focus. Consumer writes in regard to Ford recall notice.

The update was done on the pcm due to vehicle not starting and fuel gage saying empty when I knew it had more than half tank. Now it is doing the same thing only worse. It worries me that this has cause my ignition to go bad as well due to this recall.

Transmission shuddering and vibrating upon acceleration. Vehicle shakes violently at most starts and done stops. Vehicle also does these things most of the time : jerking hesitation while changing gears, premature internal wear, delays in downshifting and, in some cases, sudden or delayed acceleration. Vehicle actually slipped out of gear yesterday into another parked vehicle. Enough is enough. Took to dealership they told me it's the way I drive it. Had mechanic drive it around parking lot w me and told me there's no problem w it!!.

P1450 code purge valve.

My transmission on my 2016 Ford Focus shudders, bucks, jerks, hesitates while changing gears, and there is a delay in acceleration. This has been an issue since I purchased the vehicle.

Automatic transmission sometimes misses gears or slips into neutral while accelerating. So far it has always found a gear eventually, but causes a temporary slowdown that may eventually cause an accident. Ford says there is no issue or the clutch pack needs to be replaced . This is a dangerous design flaw Ford is aware of.

While driving, my car all of a sudden stopped in the middle of turning, my foot was on the gas pedal and it wouldn't move. After a few attempts to get it going, it finally took off and started to make a grinding noise and shaking once it got above 25 mph. I've been to scared to drive it ever since.

Ford Focus 2016-trans. Wont shift right.

My vehicle makes a grinding sound like tge floor is going to fall out , my gas tell me im 50 miles untill empty and I run out also when I turn my car makes a like a screch sound and also shakes at the same time. My car is getting do hot its melting thr plastic and tire covers to where its rubbing on my tires. My vehicle does not want to catch spped seems like it wants to die.

May 30 2019 my car cut off from driving in the of the middle of the highway call road side told I'm stuck in middle of the highway can't move, they'll be a hour, tow directly to the dealer where I brought it and get car service they found its the clutch had it fix already maybe a year ago, I purchase premium care warranty ask to a safe vehicle until they can fix my that it was on back ordered two weeks give back my not fix told me it's safe drive I feel is unfair. Also there's a lawsuit about problems with Ford.

Purchased vehicle in Aug 2018. Vehicle has stall on me 4 times since I had it also, went to the Ford homestead dealer for recall issues but car seem to still stall. Ended up taking the vehicle on 05/17/19 for an oil change and diagnostic due to the check engine came on and vehicle was taken to pep boys and was there all weekend. Now I thought the repair was fixed and the was returned to me on 05/19/19 which the check engine light came back on. So now the care continue to stall.
