1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2020

I took my car into the Ford dealership for a safety recall involving a stuck canuster purge valve in the fuel tank. At the time, (March 2020) they used one of their devices to detect pressure and no codes came up with a detection so they did not fix the valve and closed my recall. It is now only 9 months later and the same valve that was recalled is faulty and has crushed my fuel tank and deformed my pump. They however, are refusing to reopen the recall and fix the issue even though it is a very severe safety hazard. My fuel tank could combust at any time because it isnt able to release pressure properly and this all due to their faulty valve involved in recall #: 18v735000 is there anything you guys can do on your wnd to help me fight this?.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2020

The vehicle was under half a tank pf fuel and begam to sputter and jolt amd dies. It started but cranked long and hard. This happens whenever the fuel is at half or below. I searched my VIN it says the fuel rscall isn't a issue bit its doing exactly that.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2020

I took my vehicle to Ford for a recall on the canister purge valve in the fuel system. They previously fixed it on April 16, 2019. My fuel tank imploded and my car was stalling out and eventually would not start. Now it's out again and my car is stalling out while driving, having issues with starting and my check engine light is on. This has all happened on both city street at lights and highways. Mainly when I am stopped at a stop light it will rev up by itself and then stall out when I start accelerating. I've almost been rear-ended due to this issue. I was told there was no such recall on my vehicle for this matter and when I tried to show them the document I have for the recall they still deemed it incorrect. They refused to fix my car because of it previously being fixed and sent me on my way. I have had many issues with the car resulting in it breaking down multiple times due to recalls. The transmission itself has been replaced twice and the cpv once and now it needs replaced again. I called Ford corporate and they would not do anything for me, only kept repeating that it's a one time fix. Ford simply put a band-aid on the issue rather than solving the issue.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

My gas tank is starting to implode.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2020

My check engine light came on and I took it to a local mechanic. The codes were p1450 and po456 which are associated with the safety recall of the canister purge valve. The fuel tank is also deformed. My cars VIN is not associated with the recall so they will not cover it and I am expected to cover it. My car also has vibration at idle and has clutch shudder over 250 rpm. Ford fixed my transmission module in 2018 with a previous recall after it stalled several times. Now I am having issues again. The service advisor said they updated the transmission module in 2018 but the customer care agent tried to tell me they replaced the parts entirely in 2018 and not just updated. I notified her of the service advisors statement and then she went back to saying my VIN wasn't part of an open recall. My vehicle is at 74,563 miles and has already had several major issues regarding transmission and canister purge valve.

6 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2020

During early lockdown for pandemic I allowed a local Ford dealership to valet service my car for oil change, inspection, etc as well as a fuel tank recall 18s32. Car was showing no recall symptoms before the service but was returned to me in very poor condition. Engine seems to vapor lock at the most inopportune times with no power to accelerate into traffic and wants to stall out, then it catches its breathe and wants to take off out from under me. I'm a 62 yr old woman who trusted a local dealership and now I have a car that is extremely unsafe to drive. The service writer could care less and wants to claim that I now need a new transmission. Just did a shoddy job and want more money from me. I'm so disappointed.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2020

I just recently bought a car and it has been stalling while driving and having difficulty starting/revving itself up after I fill the gas tank. I have taken it to a shop to get a diagnosis and they said that it might have been the recall for the gas tank. Well, I looked up to see if my car had already gotten fix for the recall and it said that it did. So it might have happened again, and I'm not quite sure what to do. It happens every so often. As the engine light also comes on and off. When the light is off, the car is perfectly fine, but when it's on, it tries to stall.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

Same issue with fuel tank deformation. October 2018 was the recall. About 1 year ago greenway Ford had the car for the whole day and stated they fixed it but now I received a letter stating the recall fixing was incomplete and the recall states it is increased risk for a crash due to stalling of the engine. September 2017 shifting clutch failed and was not informed August 7 2017 transmission shuttering now there is a fuel tank deformation the car shakes alot.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2020

Car check engine light came on and car stalled when approaching a stop light on city road. Took car to mechanic who ran diagnostic and found code p1450 stating unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum which is related to pcm memory. Stated that this is a known issue with this make and model. Was told pcm needed to be reprogrammed to latest calibration using ids release 99. 05 or higher. We feel that this is a known safety issue that should require a fix by Ford.

10 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). After receiving the notice, the contact stated that the vehicle would stall and turn off without warning when approaching a stop. The contact took the vehicle to frontier Ford (3701 stevens creek blvd, santa clara, CA 95051, (408) 533-1488) where the contact was informed that the recall was for the deformation of the fuel tank, not the canister purge valve. When the contact notified the dealer of the recall, he was informed that it was a "public safety notice". The contact was informed that he would have to pay for a diagnostic test to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was in the possession of the dealer to repair the fuel tank. The canister purge valve remained unrepaired. The failure mileage was 62,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2019

Day 1: gas meter is showing I have 1/4 gas left in car then all of sudden car shuts off, I go and put gas in and then when I start it up it started up rough then shut off. I go to turn it on again cranks for a few seconds and then it started. Felt like gas tank was actually empty and struggled to put fuel through gas lines. Day 2: 3 days later I have a little more than a 1/4 tank of gas as I am driving the gas meter started to go up to 3/4 of gas. That is strange. And car is sputtering like if it had no gas.

12 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2019

Car stalled while driving. There is a current recall for valve issues but does not cover my vehicle. Tank was less than half full, no engine malfunction light, but it appears not to be working.

13 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2019

Car has stalled twice. Once while at a stop. Once while driving. The latter while my tank was less than half full. There is a vacuum/valve issue that Ford has recalled Focus vehicles on, but not my vehicle specifically.

14 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2019

My 2016 Ford Focus was serviced for fuel system recall 18s32 on July 12,2019. A code was reprogrammed. This did not fix the problem of the engine sporadically stalling and it still poses a safety risk. Returned to Ford dealership on 09/03/2019. Car was still stalling and "check engine light" was on. The check engine light coming on after the powertrain control module had been reprogrammed is a direct indication fuel tank is damaged -Ford recall 19s22, with a fuel tank deformity which needs to be replaced to correct the safety issue. Ford dealership power Ford in albuquerque,nm refused to do the cpv replacement, carbon canister replacement, fuel delivery module and fuel tank replacement as recall 19s22 clearly states is the responsibility of Ford motor company to due because of serious safety concerns. Multiple online consumer reports state this that if it is serviced for the recall and then check engine light comes on it is a direct indication it needs to be fixed by Ford motor company because of faulty manufacturing- which damages the gas tank(fuel tank deformity. It is their obligation to fix the vehicle before an accident does happen. Passengers in the car daily are a 10 month old and 2 year old , who could be gravely injured because of the car stalling-especially on the busy freeway the car travels everyday. .

15 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2019

The update was done on the pcm due to vehicle not starting and fuel gage saying empty when I knew it had more than half tank. Now it is doing the same thing only worse. It worries me that this has cause my ignition to go bad as well due to this recall.

16 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Vehicle stalled in the middle of highway. Vehicle stall after gas in put intontank. Check engine light comes on and purge valve or vacuumed leak noted. Vehicle randomly shuts off and or loses power. 19 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2019

Car will not start after fueling. Car shakes and shutters and takes multiple cranking attempts to start car. This only happens after fueling. It also does not matter whether the tank is almost empty, half-way full, or 3/4 full. The same thing occurs everytime. This started happening after the dealership updated my software per the recall. Contacted the dealership and they wanted to charge me $100 just to diagnose a problem that started after they updated my software.

20 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2019

The transmission of this vehicle has had a consistent problem of being erratic and requires constant very particular pressure on the gas pedal to avoid shuddering and shaking when accelerating which when it happens makes the car very difficult to safely control in any type of traffic since other drivers do not anticipate the lurching and staggering from the car unless they happen to note the Ford emblem and are aware of the safety problems facing all Focus drivers of the affected models. I have found the issues manageable by assertive manipulation of the gas pedal during acceleration and gentle and gradual application of the brakes when possible to offset the dangerously inconsistent acceleration and the tendency for car to misshift when slowing down. I'm absolutely appalled to discover that this is not an isolated situation but is typical of most if not all 2012-2016 it is inconceivable to me that Ford was aware of this life threatening malfunction in their products and instead of solving or addressing it sold cars to unsuspecting public on the basis of the their good name and reputation as a quality american manufacturer. I also had to have the car serviced at hertich Ford of milford delaware for a separate issue involving fuel system sensors which caused the fuel gage to be inaccurate and caused my vehicle to stall several times due to a vacuum created in the gas tank, which was fixed by the recall work but again caused a potentially dangerous situation for myself and passengers. Apparently there is another recall for the fuel system error which I have not been able to schedule as yet. To whom it may concern and anyone reading this do yourself a favor and buy Chevrolet or Toyota two brands I can highly recommend. Thanks.

23 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

Inaccurate fuel gauge. First issue - my car would be reading that I had (example) 15 miles until empty and really I had 0 miles until empty. Ran out of gas twice because of this issue. Second issue - my car will stall out in the middle of driving/accelerating at any given time. Much worse when I have less than a half/quarter tank. My car will still stall even when I do have more than a half tank of gas. Most times, my car will not restart after the stall. This issue is more likely to happen as soon as I turn the car on, at a dead stop then about to accelerate, in stop and go traffic. I bought the car in June of 2018 and started to notice the fuel tank issue pretty quickly. The stalling out issue started to happen shortly after. I did receive a recall notice from Ford.

26 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

At times when starting off there is a severe hesitation. We have to keep the fuel tank more than half full at all times. We received a recall notice from Ford but they stated our VIN wasn't listed on the recall so they would not fix it.
