1 Instrument Panel Fuel Gauge problem

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the transmission experienced rough shifting while the vehicle jumped, and the engine revved loudly. The transmission fault message was displayed. Additionally, the fuel gauge level was inaccurate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission control unit (tcu) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,474.

2 Instrument Panel Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2022

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was later taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the purge valve was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. 3 Instrument Panel Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2022

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated after applying gas to the vehicle it stalled whenever started. The vehicle had to be started several times before being accelerated. The gas gauge was inoperative several times. The check engine light illuminated the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic which diagnosed the failure to be an evaporative emission control system. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number 18v735000 ( fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
