1 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 03/25/2005

Rotors gone bad hansel Ford said at 9200 miles the squeaking was normal, then at 13000 I called they still said it was normal but now the warranty was up, then at 20000 miles they check it because it was doing it more, now the rotors have groves beyond repair, yet the brake pads still had between 65% and 90% left to them, I had to replace both rotors and pads for safety for my daughter.

2 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2003 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 08/28/2004

Every since I bought the car the brakes have squeaked. When I took it in for the first service, I informed the mechanic of my concern about the squeaking brakes and the overwhelming amountof brake dust on my wheels and rims. After that check up I was told my brakes were fine and I pleaded with the mechanic to be sure and again and again he told me everything was fine. This past Saturday, August 28 2004, just over 16,000 miles, I took my car in for service and again complained of the brake dust and sqeaking sound and now grinding sound I here. I have been informed that I need new front brakes metal to metal pads and the front rotors must be replaced!!!! this is craziness and I am outraged!!!.

4 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2002 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 05/11/2004

My 2002 Focus needed front brake pads and rotors at 20k miles. My repair shop says Ford uses a very soft compound on the brakes and rotors causing them to wear quickly. My local Ford service center says I am lucky because he sees this type of repiar needed at 13-14k for the Focus. After calling my local Ford dealership, and Ford directly, I was told that my warranty does not cover "wear items". At about $300 to repair, this is totally unsatisfactory. . Read more...

Violent shaking of stearing wheel when breaking due to warping of break roters. Roters were replaced at 5000, 11,000, 20,000 miles and recently turnrd at 31,00 miles. The rate of failure of the roters is unacceptable and a hazzard.

8 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2001 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 01/20/2003

The firestone firehawk tires, has had terrible road noise for the past 6,000 miles. Even though I had the tires rotated every 6,000 miles. Last night after the dealership put a new set of tires on from a new car, to prove to me that it was the tires. I am not happy! also, the informed me that I would need new brakes. . . Okay, that is possible. However, they also told me that I would need new rotors. Nothing that they could be turned. . . Just that I need new ones. When I still have brake pads. How can that be? are they made of soft metal that they don't last? that Ford counts that as a wearing problem, so the cost is on me?.
