Two problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 2004 Ford Freestar. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2004 Ford Freestar based on all problems reported for the 2004 Freestar.

1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2005

Passenger side air bag light intermittently turns on and off when a person above the weight requirements is seated in the passenger seat. This can occur either when a person is shifting in the seat or when they are stationary. This has occurred multiple times with various passengers. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to when it occurs. This is a serious concern of mine because if an accident occurred while the light is on, turning the airbag off, the result could be serious. September 5, 2005 was the most recent occurrence.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2004

Air bag light comes on intermittently. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem. Also, doors will open suddenly. Manufacturer stated the vehicle's defects do not warranty a new vehicle.
