Air Conditioner Problems of Ford Freestyle

Unable to start car immediately after filling gas tank. Also, upon stopping at light or turning a corner it feels like the gas is not going to the engine and I am unable to move forward. This forces me to pull over to the side of the road. . At the time I had the air conditioner on and now am told the compressor is bad. There is loud clicking (like the computer is 'thinking') coming from under the dash.

When it had the air condition on I kept jumping. I was scared it was going hit another car. Then I was on the expressway going 60 trying to pass a semi to get over and to get off and the car lost all power (shut off)omg panic. Started it up about 10 times before I got it back home.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Freestyle. When shifting gears or depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle jolted. Additionally, the air conditioning unit would only circulate while driving. While at a stop, the air conditioning would not release cold air. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that there may have been a transmission malfunction and a defect within the air lines, which potentially caused the air conditioning to malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.

Vehicle accelerates when the air conditioner is on. It accelerates on its own and there have been a few occasions when I have almost rear-ended people. I now know that I have to stay more than the usual distance from the car ahead of me, in order to avoid a collision. This happens all the time when the air conditioner is on. This is not an occasional occurance. At times, it also seems like the car is going to stale out. I have not taken it to the dealership or to a repair shop, due to a lack of funds to try to diagnose and correct the issue.

1. The air conditioner failed, had to be replaced June 2011. It just gradually did not cool the air at all. Fan on ac worked fine, all controls as well, just no cool air. $850. The vehicle lunges forward or backward, more noticeable when starting to back up. Had valves cleaned. Worked temporarily. Looking at major repair bill for throttle body or transmission, don't know which. .
