The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph and trying to pass a vehicle, the engine started to race and the rpms increased. The contact was able to get the vehicle to stop once she shifted into neutral gear with her foot on the brake pedal. The engine continued to race even after the vehicle came to a stop. The gas pedal was still engaged and attempting to accelerate even after the contact was able to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The failure and current mileages were 4120. The consumer stated the accelerator became stuck to the floor. She had to literally pull the gas pedal up and there was a sound of a click. The vehicle continued to accelerate without driver intent and the contact used extreme force on the brakes to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was moved off the roadway and the engine was shut off.
