general problems of the 2009 Ford Fusion

The potholes on the highway caused my tie rods and tires to explode!.

Buying the 2009 Fusion understanding the power steering was faulty, thinking a good tune up and general fluids replaced would handle the problem. However this was not the case. Fusion needed rack n pinion and power steering pump. I can not drive the vehicle due to this issue(s) their was a terrible bad accident and the vehicle is now salvaged title. This is now second time rack n pinion out and I will harm others and myself as I can not make turns. I am extremely disappointed with Ford mfg and will seek all monetary claims for not backing up their vehicles. Ashamed and less than is my thoughts on Ford Fusions!.

When you press break pedal to stop the vehicle, break pedal goes all the way to the floor, very sotf and tha car doesn't stop. Very big and serious issue.

Takata recall I was in a wreak because the brakes in the floor when I was driving in the rain on the highway. The air bag in the steering wheel came out.

My vehicle has had multiple tire pressure sensor issues. All 4 have been replaced once and two have been replaced twice in the course of 9 months. One time the sensor became loose and began clunking around inside the rim. It was only an expensive annoyance until yesterday. While driving at 65 to 70 mph on a 4 lane interstate highway, the tire pressure sensor broke off. At that time it began to spin around within the wheel well/rim. This caused a violent vibration in the steering of the vehicle and made it impossible to keep going straight without slowing to 50mph. This was a back tire and I shutter to think of what would have happened had it been in the front. Ford motor company doesn't have a known issue or recall for this problem. I am at the point where I won't transport my children in the vehicle because of this fear of losing all control of steering. I also wonder what would have happened if I was breaking at the exact moment it broke and effected steering. This issue is a safety hazzard and I can see great bodily harm or death resulting from similar situations.

While attempting to make a u-turn to the left the steering suddenly fought aginst me in the middle of the turn and tried to straighten its self out. I'm a big guy and held the steering wheel, but someone with less stregnth would have lost control and crashed.

Driving down road in city, 25 mph, approaching intersection to make right turn, began turning and halfway through turn the steering wheel locked in place and I could not complete the turn. Luckily no car was in left lane at light or I would have hit it. Stopped car just before hitting curb and building. Shut off, restarted and was able to get steering to work again. Taking to shop for evaluation.

While traveling at 65 mph in traffic, the car completely shutdown. Dashboard lights appeared and the car lost all power, including power brakes and steering. Fortunately, I was able to maintain control of the vehicle while exiting the roadway. Due to the lack of steering and braking ability, I don't feel a person of smaller stature, I. E. My wife, would have been able to maintain control without being in an accident.

I had a history of recurring problems with my 2009 Fusion. The battery died over and over again, causing me to finally replace it. The car constantly threw errors regarding low tire pressure. But the largest problem happened when we were driving down a two-lane highway at roughly 55 mph and the steering wheel suddenly became unresponsive and locked, causing us to hit first the concrete divider on one side of the highway and ricochet across and hit the metal safety rail on the other side. The car was unresponsive to braking. The car hit head-on both times and was completely totaled. I remember frantically trying to open the doors because I was sure was about to explode. This is an incredibly frightening experience for me because there was literally nothing we could have done to prevent it. We weren't speeding. There was no inclement weather. No one was distracted by their phone or the radio. No one fell asleep. A driver behind us who stopped described how the car just suddenly veered out of control. It is difficult to describe the terror you feel when you are behind the wheel of a car that has completely stopped responding to anything you do. It is scary to think how easily we could have crashed through the metal guardrail and fallen to our deaths, yet there isn't even a recall in effect. I am so extremely lucky that no other car was involved in the accident, but this is incredibly dangerous.

The contact owned a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, he attempted to pass another vehicle and the steering wheel seized. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the highway, crashing into a mountain side. When the authorities arrived, the steering wheel remained seized. None of the air bags deployed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were 87,000.

Well what can I say my life flashed before my eyes I all most crashed my brakes failed to work about 1 inch from braking I knew I was not braking at all. I turned off the car while on 39mph and I pulled the emergency brake I have a Ford Fusion 2009. I now know how fast I can lose my life.

2009 Ford Fusion front end pull or drift. I have a Fusion that will literally run off the road when hands are not correcting the steering. While everyone knows it is unsafe to drive with no hands on the wheel, we all do it from time to time and in most cars this is not a concern since the car will go straight over a considerable distance. This car however will run off the road in a matter of seconds and is a considerable safety hazard. Ford's response to the problem is to instruct their dealers through an internal memo, not to "attempt a repair for this problem. " this is unacceptable for a company that is touting their cars to be vastly improved over Toyota and Honda. At least their cars go straight down the road with little effort having to be given by the driver. I have driven two of these cars (one of which I own) and both do the same thing. This needs to be investigated and a repair found.
