My electric power steering locks so I was not allowed to drive it.
Driving down the road when my car suddenly started to decelerate. It would not allow me to go any faster when pressing the gas. I had to pull over put my hazard lights on as cars were coming up on me. I pulled over turned my car off and waiting a few seconds, turned it back on and it was fine. However, I looked up what it could be and found the electronic throttle body could be the cause. Why hasn’t mine been fixed if Ford new about this. I’ve been in an had my oil change and my air bag recall and nobody has mentioned any of that.

On October 5th, 2021 around 6:20am, the brakes on my 2012 Ford Fusion hybrid failed to slow the car in any way. This event occurred while I was on the highway (m14) going ~65mph. Unable to conventionally stop, I was a crash hazard to those around me, and to the braking traffic in front of me. After being inspected by the varsity Ford dealership, I was told "the brake control unit is not actuating the valves in the hydraulic control unit" and that "there is a possibility that it will also need the hydraulic control unit as well. " it has been at the dealership for the past 2 weeks and is available for inspection. There were no warning messages or signs prior to the brake failing. I received a warning sign at the point of failure, but by then I already knew the brakes did not work.
Drove car out of driveway, after driving approximately 150-200 feet the dashboard wrench icon ( powertrain problem ) illuminated and car went into limp mode. Read mil codes, had codes p0715, input/turbine speed sensor circuit malfunction and p0717, input/turbine speed sensor no signal. Traced wiring problem to connector in front of drivers side shock tower. This connector is the connector between the pcm and and the transmission. The connector was causing an open on the conductors, causing the lack of tss signal. There were no symptoms or intermittent problems prior to this - it happened suddenly. Had been on an interstate hiway the day prior to this, am glad this ( going into limp mode ) did not happen while I was traveling at 65mph - could have caused accident.
Power steering just died while I was on highway almost lost control and service power steering came on funny thing is it should be recalled it is horrible.
The power steering is not working. Very difficult to turn the wheel.
Tail light socket melted and burned. Noticed blinker and passenger side brake light were not working. Pulled out of housing and saw the socket was burnt and the bulb was melted in the socket.
Defrost/ac/vents blow out hot air regardless of settings. . . Found this to be a very common issue online and an expensive permanent fix. . . Vents/defrost/ac may be tricked into working if lights are turned on before starting (thinks it's nighttime or cover up light sensor on dash).
The air conditioner fan blower motor freezes up until it eventually stops working. It is doing it again for the 6th time. I have had to replace it every 1-2 years.
Car is slow to accelerate after stopping at a traffic light or stop sign. Loss of power and speed when going up hill, steering wheel locked in place while driving on the highway.
Numerous times I have been driving and the power steering fault warning would flash across the display. When I tried to restart the car, the display changes warnings and says "power steering fault" or "severice power steering now". Had a local mechanic clear out the code and steering would go back to normal. . . Everything has been fine since but now the steering wheel makes a whining/weird sound when turning the wheel under 10mph and its very stiff when trying to turn but once I get over 10mph it loosens up and is normal. . . My car isn't currently under any recall but I feel like the power steering should be under recall if its a continuous issue.
My driver's side electric door lock and inside handle will not open door. Must put window down and reach out side to open door. Very apprehensive because sometimes I have to repeat the unlocking process before I can let myself out of the car. At the time of the incident, I had been driving and then parked at a business place. When I attempted to unlock the door and to out, I heard a click but the handle would not release.
Lose of power steering and my dashboard keeps flashing to check it! my dashboard also keeps saying that my advance trac isnt right or unstable! plus my air conditioning unit blows hot air on hot days! my air bag was supposed to been fixed on 02/11/2020 by a Ford dealership and it is back to it's old self.
While in motion the advance trac service needed appeared and then the power steering came up as I was backing out of a parking lot. Car steering wheel would not turn at all car is now parked.
The gear shift light on the dash board stays on and it's making my car go dead. I have to keep getting a jump everyday. It in park no key in the ignition and doors locked. Its making a loud noise.
takata recall I was driving on a city street approx. 40mph when all of the sudden lights and sounds on dash board went off stating service power steering and service advance auto trac after pulling over turning the car off then back on you no longer could steer or drive the car.
I own a 2012 Ford Fusion se 6 cylinder this vehicle has a major safety hazard. My passenger side rtail light continues to blow and the most recent incident occurred last week when I noticed a burning smell. I have been replacing this tail light every six months for the past two years and it has caused melting around the light socket and the bulb is clearly burnt. After googling this issue I have seen numerous complaints about the same issue with the 2012 Ford Fusion and a recall needs to be issued immediately or I am going to the public. This can kill someone and start a fire especially if the blaze gets out of hand and children are in the backseat strapped in. Please email me angsyoun@yahoo. Com regarding if you are having a similar concern so I can compile this and go public because they have received several complaints and not done anything to remedy this issue. This is clearly an electrical issue and Ford and the nthsa need to step it up and save lives before it's too late. . Read more...
I was driving my 2012 Ford Fusion to work one day when suddenly I got an alert reading "service power steering now" and was no longer able to use my power steering which made turning extremely difficult. I was on a highway and had to pull over and park in the closest fuel station.
Driver side door will not open from the inside. When inside the vehicle the door handle feels loose and moves freely when pulling but the door will not open. You can open the door from the outside.
I was going 55 miles an hour on busy street in florida, all of sudden car was getting no gas, had to pull over, shut off car and restart, this has happened twice, very spuratic, very dangerous, had it towed to executive auto, they could not find anything, and could not get it to fail again. Do not trust it.
Vehicle was stationary when power steering went out and advance trac. Dealership fails to acknowledge why they advise a new power steering rack and new control arms. Was told control arms are seizing up putting too much stress on the power steering and shortening it out. Why not perform the recall work first to see if it fixes it rather than propose almost $4,000 worth of repairs? the recall I'm referring to is 15v340 and 15s18.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated after a week of the vehicle not being driven, the battery was drained. The contact stated that the battery was new and should have not drained so soon. No warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Blower motor and resisters over heating and shorting out. Needs replacing.
I started my car, backed out of the driveway and my steering wheel wouldnt turn. An alert popped up on the dash saying "power steering assist fault" and I could not turn the steering wheel at all. I restarted thr car, all seemed fine. As I was driving, down the street towards the stop sign, it happened again.
Power steering assist fault came up last night out of nowhere when I went to drive home at night in the rain. I was stationary when it came on and its happened once before but I turned my car off then back on and it went back to normal. This time I tried the same thing but it never cleared itself and I'm currently driving it with no power steering because I needed to go to work. Very dangerous and a major inconvenience.
Starting my car every morning, and the power steering doesn't work. I turn the car off and start it again to get it to work. Took it in for recall once already. . Fan won't work at all, just smells hot. For ac, heater, and defrost.

When driving my 2012 Ford Fusion sel awd, the power steering will (at random) cease to function and causes extreme difficulty in steering. It is nearly impossible to pull over safely. At speed this is an extremely dangerous and terrifying event. The lights for the traction control system, the power steering system, and occasionally the advance trac system come on. It is not always all of the lights all of the time, and the errors vary. I have had it looked at and the codes read, and the problem persists. I need this fixed as I have two small children that I refuse to allow to ride in the car as I'm afraid for their safety. It strands me at random at work and at school an hour from home as well. Upon cranking the lights for power steering failures come on and I have to sit and wait on a ride. This is unacceptable. Someone needs to fix this problem as every time I have called multiple Ford dealerships, they give me a runaround explaining there is no recall for this issue. This is unacceptable because the internet is rife with posters have the same exact issues I am having and are having no assistance either from Ford. Please help us with this problem, as I cannot afford to purchase a new car after this one has drained me of my resources.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. While driving the vehicle, the advance track and air bag warning indicators were permanently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to all star Ford (2568 range park drive, denham springs, la 70726, (225)-490-7649) where it was diagnosed that the restraint control module failed and needed to be replaced. The restraint control module was not replaced. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v597000 (seat belts). The manufacturer provided case number: csa15903459. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 145,000.
Takata recall I drive 6 miles to work when I get home the key is so hot I can hardly touch it. The key hole is just as hot ?? just purchased this car from key scales Ford on 7/14/2018.
I scheduled for my recall repair to be done, which was supposed to be free. . I was forced to pay 140 for a full diagnosistcs, which I never requested I simply informed the dealership I only wanted the recall repair work done to my car. . Which never was repaired for my recall they charged me 140 for a diagnostic and told me that my recall item wasn't available below I will provide you with the appointment information as well as my personal email statement regarding the fraudulent fee of 140 for diagnostic.
My car takes about 2 mins to start. The gas acceleration goes from normal to slow when I'm driving. I go into reverse and my car stalls and jerks really hard. When I'm at a stoplight or a stop sign my car will act like it's losing power and the whole car shakes. The lights on the dash come on then disappear days later with new lights on such as check engine doors open ect. There are times I will be driving and my car will slow down on its own like I hit my breaks. When I was backing up going in reverse the car jerked and I hit someone however it was in a parking lot. There was no damage to the other vehicle. When I put the car back in drive after I had it in reverse from backing up I backed up again there has to be something wrong within the car itself. I'm worried about my safety as well as others. The malfunctioning of the car has been going on since about a month after I got it and it's been almost 2 months since it's beenin my possession.
At slow rates of speed the steering becomes very difficult to control if I was to run over a little pot hole in the street my car would jerk violently to the left or right.
When driving the vehicle on an incline, or the engine is under loaad, the temperature gague goes up, but as soon as I come out of it, the temperature returns to normal. I have had it tested and it is not actually overheating. Have a new water pump, thermostat, sensor and radiator. Also, the car symbol on the instrument panel is on and all doors and trunk are closed. Had to take it to the dealer, they've determined it is electrical after the "diagnostic", but are still trouble shooting after a week to determine the exact cause.
