general problems of the 2014 Ford Fusion - part 1

The backup assisting camera is no longer working properly, causing a safety issue while reversing. There are recalls on this from 2015 to 2019 but not 2014 even though the same issue is happening with the 2014's.

As I was driving,making a right turn and with out warning my steering wheel before excessively hard to control, turn. Because of the sudden wheel tightening as I was making this right turn I almost collided with a vehicle in next lane on highway. My brakes were in good standing but I had to really step down on my brakes to gain control of the steering wheel. I put in the shop and got a multi point inspection with repairs costs of over 3000 to replace steering wheel gear bolts etc in which I can't afford at this time.

The backup camera works intermittently. Showing a black screen and telling me to see a dealer.

My back up camera glitches out where it works one moment and then it doesn’t an I get a message says that the back up camera doesn’t work to call dealership.

The backup camera screen is black or flickers, and sometimes shows an error message like 'camera not available. '.

Rear view camera inspection recall (campaign 25sa9/25v695) should be extended at least a few more years. My 2014 Ford Fusion platinum is affected by the same issue.

The back up camera is intermittent or is a black screen. It also displays like a mirror image instead of what is directly behind me (right is on the left and left is on the right).

Vehicle camera works intermittently. The screen will come on while in reverse however, will go black. I've turned the camera off and on but the same thing happens. The camera should not function like this.

Rear viiew camera stops working and/or goes blank when the car is put in reverse. Sometimes will also displays back up camera not working please contact dealership.

The backup camera is not working right it's either fuzzy or it's black and sometimes it is showing on opposite direction causing me to almost have a huge accident with my children inside this is currently still happening and started over 2 months ago.

The rearview camera does not display properly. The image is flipped which can cause confusion when using the camera to check for traffic. Sometimes the camera does not come on/display images when shifting into reverse. Also at night the camera is streaky so one is unable to see images in the camera. I noticed there was a recall for the rearview camera but my make/model/year was not included but I am experiencing issues with the rearview camera.

My backup camera does not work periodically. It will say camera unavailable. I use my camera in conjunction with my mirrors so it is really difficult when I can’t see behind me.

Recent problem with the backup camera on a 2014 Ford Fusion hybrid that intermittently shows the image in reverse- right is left and left is right. This is very dangerous when backing up . Ford is aware of the problem and has recalls on other models with the same problem but not ours.

The rear view mirror and side mirrors become dark after the sun sets and it becomes extremely hard and dangerous to judge vehicles behind you as you try to merge onto any road that has moving traffic.

My rear camera on my 2014 Ford Fusion just stopped working on it's own (noticed on [xxx]). I then researched and found a recall; however, the recall is VIN specific and does not include my vehicle. This is a problem as my camera stopped working and deserves to be fixed as well the others that have already been identified. Advancetrac stopped working in my car due a sensor. Had to get it replaced by midas. When I went to turn on my car and put it in drive it started making an awful grinding sound and would not move and gave me an error code that just said service advancetrac. It was insanely expensive to repair and thankfully didn't happen while I was driving.

2014 Ford Fusion 4d 2wd se backup camera started when my car was 9 to 10 years old occasionally goes black and show reversed but not upside down. Within 5 months it continually shows images reversed. I attempted to do a software update but since it was over 10 years old at the time I was not allowed to I also spoke to the car dealership and was told that was correct. No recalls on the backup camera I was told I would need to pay between 500 and 1000 dollars to have it fixed. I found a site on the internet that say the 2014 also had a recall but the Ford site does not show my VIN indicating that is true.

A third party hacked my cpu/transmission control system causing malfunction with the engine. The engine randomly would cut off during traffic, and I would need to press gas directly after starting the vehicle to go. My vehicle was fairly new and transmission module should not be ineffective after purchasing my vehicle last July 2023 with less than 80k miles. The notification that makes the vehicle stay in the lane would malfunction randomly notifying me of failure to sensor active crash alert. I also have inability to connect to Ford vehicle app with no reason provided to cut off wifi connectivity. Please review external ip as I can hear communication of third party observing my way of driving and communication while attempting to drive causing distraction affecting safety of myself, my location placement, and health of the car. Possible cpu/transmission/ac connectivity from July 2023 to malfunction of vehicle starting 10/2024.

I have 2014 Ford Fusion se. Here lately my car has randomly been unlocking itself not only that popping trunk as well. I have took the time replacing the key fob battery first the checking lock adapters to my doors and also my keypad. I have it checked out. Yet nobody knows. I’m 8 pregnant with two kids this is very stress as a single parent trust that car is ensured locks it’s not. Yall need to do recall and fix this. I did speak with police department stating issues filing a report I didn’t have number but they said it documentation.

My car when it is parked it will randomly pop the trunk. A lot of issues I’m seeing is Ford Fusions 2014 and up! few of my friends are having the same issues especially with keyless entry pad it’s causing issues from water damage or heat causing the car to to this! their needs to be recall on that cause kids doors aren’t locking properly I have kids I had someone almost steal my car cause my trunk was popped open by itself! this is my second time reporting this I have 2 year old newborn and 5 year old I need my car! can yall please fix this issue.

When driving the car will stall out and die in the driving state. This occurs without warning from any sensor light error warnings. After acceleration to 35 it will sputter as if the fuel is not flowing, yet then it will correct but stall and completely die during operation while driving. Have had both the upper and lower full pumps installed within the last calendar yet still currently having the problem or issue. Experiencing the exact same eco boost concerns as other Ford models have been recalled for as of recent.

Shifter cable bushing and cover car would not move when putting into drive or reverse. It was the shifter cable bushing that had to be replaced. We were told that this issues was covered on other VIN number vehicles but not our car. Why???.

The latch holding the driver door closed failed and the door would not close. This issue has happened before and been addressed by previous recalls but continues to be an issue.

Engine coolant leak.

I had my car at southgate Ford from 0ct 17- 20. During this time my car was to be serviced for the recalls. However upon receiving my car back. I was told the recall that is showing incomplete( door latches) was unable to be repaired due to the car only being registered in mi and PA. At this time it is showing my VIN is still showing said recalls as incomplete.

Back-up camera: the back-up camera works intermittently, or sometimes not at all; on several occasions, the camera went on briefly, showing children approaching the back of the car while backing out of a driveway. Then it goes blank as they walk behind the vehicle. Additionally, when backing into a parking space, the camera displays, then goes blank as soon as the proximity alert warning beep starts to sound. I’m not sure if the “trigger" is the proximity sensors or the steering sensor since the steering wheel is always turned and the warning beeps are always present.

The rear passenger back door latch is out. Has to be replaced because door will not shut an my toddler almost feel out but I caught him.

The lug nuts on my 2014 Ford Fusion have swollen to the point where they cannot be removed with the tool Ford provided or a standard 4 socket iron wrench. This problem is so severe, aaa was unable to remove the lug nuts after I had a flat requiring a tow for repair of tire. Additionally, the lug nits cam become compromised and cause the rim to become fisplaced while driving.

“temporarily lost communication with the climate system” error. Alert suddenly came on while driving, no prior issues or signs of error. Windows will not go down, air conditioner will not come on, cannot use climate touch screen or control volume from dash.

We took the car to the Ford dealer for recalls on 6/26/2023. We noticed the car would jolt or slow down when shifting gears. Also would, on occasion, jolt before stopping. We were told that the transmission needed repairs. The cost could vary from 4k to 7k, which we declined and brought our car home, and it can be inspected upon request. The car has a little over 60k miles, and we consistently serviced it. No warning lights or severe problems before being told our vehicle is not driveable until we repair the transmission.

A neighbor came to my door and told me my break lights were on while the car was just sitting in the driveway. It had not been driven recently before this was reported to me. It is 24 hours later and the lights are still on and I have not been able to get them to turn off. No warning lamps on the dashboard lit, this can cause a rear end collision to me as the person following behind can not tell that I am coming to a stop. I am aware that there is a recall on some of the 2014 Ford Fusions but it appears that mine is not lised on the recall. Since this is a holiday weekend (and this came to my attention on a Saturday) I will be calling Ford garage in stockton, CA on Tuesday may 30, 2023 to place inquiry about this.

About a week ago I had to make a 2 hour drive and when I was close to my destination my check engine light came on and started flashing I hooked a code scanner up to it and it was cylender 4 misfire so I replaced the coil pack and the problem stopped. Today I was driving my car and the car stalled on me agian in a parking lot I put the car in park and I turned the car off and when I tryed to start the car agian it had a long crank and then it started I got to the intersection and the car stalled agian so I immediately repeated the steps and it started back up when I came threw the caution light so I could pull over the car stalled agian in the middle of moving traffic with my child in the car. We almost got hit by other vehicles trying to move to safety. The car gave a p000c6 code. Thankfully we made it to safety as this continues to be a issiue with this vehicle and there has been several recals I am requesting that Ford fix this issiue.

The backup camera is frequently failing to work, putting the vehicle at increased risk for a rear collision. A message appears on the dashboard screen when the failure occurs that the system is not working.

Coolant sensor malfunction. Should let me know when its low. Did not. Had coolant. Sensor never worked properly. Internal engine block burn. Took to a mechanic. Replaced sensor too late. I am so screwed still paying for it.

Rear view video system is failing either completely or halfway during the back up. Warning message says to contact dealership, who wants to run diagnostics in order to figure out cause. Despite video failure, the audio has continued to work properly. Did not want to pay costly fee to run diagnostics without shopping around for lower price.
