Multiple warning lights come off and on while driving. When they come on steering becomes difficult. No one can determine the cause. There have bene multiple reports by others with this same make/model of happening to them and no mechanics nor dealership have been able to identify the cause.
I have received a message on my dashboard regarding 1. Engine coolant over temperature 2. Power reduced to lower engine temperature. I have taken the car to a repair shop Thursday and Friday. I believe car is a lemon. Have had the vehicle for only 17 days. I can’t keep calling off work due to non operational vehicle. I would like to get this issue resolved or otherwise I would not be able to pay my car note.
Randomly and without warning, the entire climate control system shuts off as well as the entire center console. The only message during this period is "temporarily lost communication with climate control". When all this shuts off, the drivers side controls for the windows becomes inoperative as well as the passenger side lock/unlock button. This renders a safety hazard because during times of heat and cold it becomes impossible to run the climate control or roll the windows down for any air movement. Also an extreme hazard is the passenger is unable to unlock the doors in even of an emergency. Occasionally when this happens, the air bag light will illuminate, causing unknown safety hazards in that aspect. I have contacted the dealership and was told it sounds like a potentially faulty computer module, or faulty wiring that could cost thousands to repair. The issue occurs 80% of the time the car is in operation and seems to happen more on hot days where it becomes critical to have air movement/ac.
Dashboard shows "temporarily lost connection with climate system". When displayed, the air conditioning system (cold or heat) works. Other functions on dash board are also unavailable. Windows or door locks do not work. Considerable safety concern for all but especially a vehicle transporting young children and/or infants. Summer heats rise to unbearable to dangerous to deadly if not addressed. Ford apparently has no fix but the issue is well documented amongst Ford owners. Unsure why this isn't a recall option given the nature and number of concerns. Any help at all would be appreciated. While I provide today's date that it occurred, I share the problem has been ongoing for several years. It is on and off with the only consistent indication being when it is hot outside.
For no reason at all the steering assist fault needs serviced continuously comes on while driving or sitting still making it impossible to steer. Has noticed this is a common problem among Ford vehicles my car has less than 100000 miles on it. There's no rhyme or reason when it happens or any warning. Could make a car crash a very real possibility.
Trunk randomly opens on its own. Opens constantly throughout day even when driving down road. Things have blown out of trunk while driving and have caused me to have to pull over on side of road and potentially cause accidents.
My vehicle's battery drained out because we hadn't been driving the vehicle much due to covid stay-home orders in michigan and staying at home over the holidays. We rolled it out of the garage and jump started it in the driveway, then let it run for an hour to recharge the battery rather than driving it because our power steering and advance trac were showing fault messages and it was very difficult to steer the vehicle. The messages didn't go away after we turned it off and restarted it. We even left it overnight and tried the next morning. The messages are as follows: low battery features temporarily turned off steering assist fault service required service advance trac there are also two warning lights showing a car skidding, one with the text "off" under it. I believe these are the traction control warning lights. Looking on the internet, I see there have been recalls for steering problems related to the electric power steering assist systems https://www. Consumerreports. . Read more...
Battery dies suddenly. No crank no start.
Fuel rail and vacuums are faulty. Gas remains over 1/2 a tank and vehicle stalls and shuts off while trying to drive. The engine shuts off while in drive . Acceleration is still not allowing for the car to run when starting and after a while the vehicle shuts off while driving.
Headlights do not work. I have replaced the low beams bulbs 3 times since purchasing my car over three years ago and each time the lights only work for a brief period of time them seem to short out unexpectedly, for no reason whatsoever. The high beams have been replaced multiple times as well. I purchased the fluorescent bulbs for better night vision. The lights were bright for a short period them dimmed and are only as bright as they should be if they were on low beam. This is some sort of an electrical issue or something to do with a manufacturer’s defect. Since I purchased my vehicle almost 4 years ago, there has been an ongoing issue with the transmission or alternator. The car “jumps out of gear” when putting the vehicle into park or when shifting the vehicle into drive from park. There is also a constant loud “humming/vibration” sound that clicks on and off continuously once the car is initially crunk up. The passenger door is coming off due to the loosening of bolts I assume but I’m not certain. Nothing has happened to cause this issue. The power outlets in the vehicle get extremely hot at times and cause phone cords to heat up. This has caused my phone to be destroyed! the rear view camera is now blurry with lines going through it. This is only happening when the car is put into reverse and rear view camera is in use. The bluetooth and media in the vehicle gets stuck on “sync line in” & at times will not change to any other setting. This seems to be an electronic issue as well. There have been many recalls on my vehicle and I have taken it to the Ford dealership for repair each time however, none of these issue have been resolved . I am a single mother who work’s full time and is a full time student. This is my only form of transportation. I should not have to worry rather or not my car is safe for my children and I.
I just bought a new battery. And I keep getting no crank no start. Rear suspension keeps squeaking as if it's not lubricated.
Car won't crank. Warning sign says dimming lights.
While driving on the highway, my dash informed me that my power steering module failed, and I had to pull over because the power steering was no longer working. I took it to a Ford dealership who misdiagnosed it as a battery issue. After getting a new battery the same issue happened again. I now have to replace the whole power steering which will cost me 3k.
Sudden loss of power steering while driving on a city street and making a turn through an intersection. Repair required is complete replacement of the electronic steering assembly gear.
When getting ready to park the car the car says it's it nuetral but it's actually I believe in park. I took my foot off the break and it was moving backwards. I put the parking break on the car so it is stationary.
I took my car into the Ford dealer for service as the car's bluetooth wouldn't pair to my cell phone. The issue began about two months ago. The dealer determined that the apim module needs replacing. The module is important for hands free communication while driving.
Trunk opened while going down a highway. Has opened on its own multiple times while in motion, twice while stationary.
The vehicle electrical system shuts down and there is no power at all to any system. This has happened numerous times. The last time the dealer reprogrammed the computer and thought that fixed it. But it died again last week.
I have made several complaints about my 2015 Ford Fusion. The air conditioner will randomly shut off, and when this happens, I also cannot use any of my 4 windows, the radio, lock the car from the inside, and now my outside lights wont always turn on. For whatever reason, this happens more in the summer months. I have two toddlers and we travel long distance fairly regularly. What happens if its a hot summer day, the ac shuts off and I cant roll down my windows, especially when I have my children? 6/19/2020 I had a doctors appointment one hour away and this happened to me; luckily I did not have my children with. I often work evenings and nights, half an hour away from home. I can't drive with no headlights. There is 0 pattern in these issues so I cannot pinpoint what exactly triggers this. Pulling over and completely shutting off the car, taking the keys out of the ignition, and waiting for all electricity to shut off before restarting the car does not make a difference. I had to bring my car in 3 times for this, each time being told "nothing found that was wrong with the car" until I called the Ford company, made a complaint, and received a case number, and am now being told the internal computer system is "shot". The more I researched online about these issues, the more I see other's making same/similar complaints for the same vehicle.
The sync intouch system in my 2015 Ford Fusion is not working properly. For example, when I go to my climate setting it states temporary lost communication with the climate system. I'm not able to turn my volume on or off/up or down, or change the radio station. I'm also not able to roll down my passenger side window. The issue happens whether I'm stationary or driving.
The door latch of the rear left door won't latch. I am unable to close the door (door stays open, unlocked). I tried numerous times to shut the door closed unsuccessfully. The car was stationary this morning when I went and opened the door, but when I tried to close I notice the door stays loose open.
Has problems starting after putting gas in the tank. Check engine light on, mechanic says it's a purge valve. Know alot of other Fusion owners with same problem. Seems to be happening around 40,000 miles. Have to sit at gas station about 10 to 15 min sometimes. Others times just starts rough.
The entire center console instrument panel stops working. The radio will not work and the climate control and rear defroster will not work. I am unable to defrost the windows or keep the entire cabin of the car warm. It first happened this morning when I was headed to work. I drove the car for approximately one mile, and everything stopped working. I pulled over and shut the car down and restarted it, everything worked for approximately a minute before shutting down again.
The connector to the front heated and cooled seat module nearly caught fire, without any intervention or alteration.
Mileage of car is 53,100. Wife (driver) reported that while driving in normal traffic at night, the car lost all electrical power: lights, motor function, radio, etc. She turned on the emergency flashers and came to a stop. She turned the key to restart and car functioned normally. I checked the car the following day and no problems detected.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. While driving at an unknown speed, several warning indicators illuminated. The interior dome light illuminated and the air conditioner activated independently. The vehicle was taken to dahl Ford davenport (1310 e kimberly rd, davenport, IA 52807, (563) 391-2600) where it was diagnosed that the occupant restraint control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that previously the vehicle had been included in a front end collision however, the air bags did not deploy. The contact was concerned that the failure to deploy may have been due to an issue with the orc module. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Ford Fusion hybrid, stationary(parked on a slightly raised drive way) for 2 weeks I was on vacation. The car was parked with the gear shifter in parking. Neighbor told me brake lights came on all of a sudden. Stayed on for 3 days, and went out. Car needed jump start. Car is at Ford dealership in sarasota FL. I was told the switch on the back of the brake pedal is broken. Car needs brake pedal assembly replaced. This rare part is on national back order. My car has 64000 miles on it. Car has been grounded for 3 weeks already. Car has been grounded for 3 weeks already. Could this be a safety risk?.
Turned my ac on one night and my air bag light came on and is still on after 12 days.
Still waiting for the replacement charging cable. I check regularly with the dealer and they have no date when it will be available. Nhtsa recall 18v592 applies.
The trunk opens randomly on its own in parking lot an garage.
Unknown cause for power steering failure at 61,000 miles.
As I was driving over 70 miles per hour on the highway, the door ajar alert appeared. At that point, I realized that my sons friend had opened the door out of curiosity. The doors lock signal was red which means it was locked however he was able to open the door at 70mph on the highway. This is very unsafe, luckily no one was hurt. The next day I checked the door lock mechanism. When the door is locked on red, it only locks from the outside and any door from the interior can be opened regardless of the speed. I tried this at various speeds in the parking lot. I have three children and this is extremely dangerous. For the time being, I have placed the child lock on the rear doors, however this option is not available to the passenger door. When I lock the door and it is red, it should not be able to open through the interior or exterior of the vehicle.
"takata recall" in addition to this recall, I have 2 outstanding recalls with a refusal to work on a misfire and engine issues. My car has shut down with no warning on the road, misfiring with no warning, and no information on these common engine failures was given to me. No proof has been given of issues and am being forced into purchasing a new engine. I have been refused all help and have been waiting about a month for answers.
Recall number:18s20 NHTSA recall number:18v471 on July 20,2018 approximately 3:45am I pulled in a parking lot I put my car in park and went to get out of my vehicle and my vehicle began to roll backwards almost running over my foot as I was exiting my vehicle , I immediately jumped back inside terrified and held my foot on the brake while having an panic attack. I sat for hours holding my foot on the brake because I couldn't breathe and couldn't think when I finally could catch my breath after several phone call attempts I finally got a relative on the phone and asked what to do, they suggested putting my emergency brake on until I could contact my dealership which didn't open until 9:30am. After testing I received a phone call saying the bushings that attach the shifter cable to the transmission had detached from the transmission causing my vehicle to be in park but stuck in reverse causing the vehicle to roll backwards without me knowing because I think it's in park and there's no sign of me knowing it's stuck in reverse except when it started to roll away and almost over me as I was getting out. This has been such an big inconvenience for me this has caused me to miss work from 7/20/2018-7/24/2018 because I had no transportation to work (my commute to work is 1. 5 hours), my son was not able to go to childcare, ect. And Ford has offered me no help because they say the replacement bushings aren't even in production yet. Ford is telling me there is nothing they can do because the recall is not active yet so now I have to lose my job, only income, my bills have become delinquent due to me not having transportation to and from work this is not right and Ford should not treat customers this way and should accommodate me until they figure out a solution this recall should have been handled in a more timely manner im paying money for a car and I have no transportation.
I received a recall notice (18s08 recall 18v-167) in may of 2018, ironically right after my charging device melted in my garage outlet. Ford has said for months that they would have this resolved by 2019. I went two weeks ago to my deal and they still have no update as to when this will be resolved. I have not been able to charge my car at home in a year!!! this is not acceptable. . .
