Was the car not reading the speed at the time of the accident? my wife and 2 toddlers were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. I have a wrist injury and whiplash. Injuries could have been worse if it was a vehicle of twice the size or a semi.

The airbag warning light was enabled on the dashboard. The Ford dealer diagnosed this as code "dtc u2100:00 and b00a0:62-28 stored in rcm". I was told that Ford told the dealer to reprogram the rcm with new software and this was labor "not covered by warranty or recall. " but, if my car were one model year later (2018 vs 2017) it would have been covered. I argued that this is a software defect, clearly the hardware did not fail since they did not have to replace anything, but I was simply told the labor was not covered and I would need to pay for it. After the software update the error codes and airbag light are normal. There is clearly a software defect impacting the safety performance of the vehicle. This vehicle should be recalled and the cost of the update and labor should not be a burden to the consumer. Consumers, such as me, who have had to pay for this work should be reimbursed by Ford.

On or about January 2023, I noticed the airbag light come on my vehicle's dashboard. I didn't notice anything else that may have suggested what was wrong or what caused the light to come on. On February 6, 2023, I took the car to a Ford dealership to be inspected (the car had less than 60,000 miles and was about 6 years old at the time). After an inspection, I was told that the "restraint control module" (rcm) had failed and that the part I needed was on national backorder. I asked the sales person if this meant that my airbags wouldn't deploy in an accident. His answer was unclear, and he said that "the airbags would at least not deploy unintentionally". On may 6, 2023, I was involved in an accident and the airbags did not deploy. I am unsure if there was enough force during the accident that would have caused the airbags to deploy, or whether they should have deployed but did not due to the bad rcm component. Today, may 17, 2023, my car is currently being repaired at an auto body shop. I called Ford's customer service because I am concerned about driving with potentially non-working airbags. I was told that the part I need (hs7z14b321h) is still on national backorder and may take at least two more months to be back in stock. Ford recommended filing a report with NHTSA. I feel that the car is not safe to drive and I am concerned for the safety of myself and passengers. The contact owned a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, he depressed the brake pedal to make a right turn when the vehicle failed to respond. The contact applied pressure to the brake pedal and pumped the brake pedal several times to slow the vehicle with no success. As a result, the vehicle skipped a bridge then crashed into a building. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained bruising to the chest that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The contact then received notification of the NHTSA campaign number: 23v162000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The dealer nor the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

Takata recall - I dont know if that applies to my car. My wife had an accident on March 12 2019 where she hit a tree. The impact was so much that the cradle of the body was damaged. My insurance company is geico , declared the car as total loss. The reason that I am writing this complaint is that car airbags did not inflate they were not activated. When you see the picture of damage you will be amazed why this must have happened. When I reported this to Ford they said this is your case number cas17428626 and someone will get in touch with you shortly. Nobody has got in touch they have my email id they have my phone number and my house address nothing not a single response. When we talk on the phone they are like everything will be done right away but the rightaway is like a summer day in the month of January which never comes. I even told them just incase if I dont pick up the phone please leave a voicemail or even a message so that I can get back to you quickly. So far no one has responded. Frankly I am disappointed in their handling of my case and also this is America where safety is never compromised so why did it happen to me or why should it happen to anyone who has a similar car like mine.

The dealer, fiesta Ford( 78990 varner rd, indio, CA 92203. 760-772-8000) was contacted and confirmed that the parts are not available for the recall remedy. Takata recall this car does not have reliable breaks I was in an accident on 12/26/18. I applied the brakes and nothing happened. Now I'm left with being responsible for this . And the steering wheel airbag blew smoke in my face and this car has two open recalls and it's a rental through hertz.

Vehicle (Ford Fusion) had just started to proceed forward from median turn area onto city street to turn left when 2nd vehicle (Toyota camry) swooped around another vehicle traveling approximately 45 mph and hit affected vehicle (Ford Fusion) on front drivers side (bumper and entire drivers side front quarter panel). Spun both vehicles around and affected vehicle (Ford Fusion) was propelled into the other vehicle (Toyota camry). Impact caused front drivers side tire to detach, no air bags deployed which resulted in the head of the driver of affected vehicle (Ford Fusion) to hit the drivers side window with enough force to spider shatter the window leaving an imprint of drivers head in the window. Driver was transported to hospital and injuries were minor thus far. Still seeking medical attention. Impact was sufficient enough that 2nd vehicle (Toyota camry) did deploy all airbags.

Veh 1 exiting gas station across two lanes to center-turn lane to await break in traffic. Veh 2 crashed into left front of veh 1. Sufficient impact to break right front wheel from frame on veh1. Only airbag to deploy was at driver's ankle. None of the other airbags worked. Driver of veh 1 injured, severe abrasion to left clavicle caused by seat belt. Sternum and rt ribs also affected . Veh 1 virtually stopped, veh 2 approached at high rate of speed, veh 1 had no time to escape collision. Weather clear, dry, sunny.

The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 5,000.

(kh - no dealer info) tl the contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the headliner fell out of place in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the headliner was replaced. But the failure recurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the side curtain air bag was defective and needed to be replaced. The air bag was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the mounting brackets were welded into the wrong position in the vehicle. The roof of the vehicle would have to be detached and re-welded into the correct position. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

Takata recall: after a high speed collision no air bags deployed. My vehicle was at a stop on a highway. My car was rear ended by another vehicle going between 70 and 75 mph. Upon impact both cars were moved to the median and propelled approximately 200 feet. At no point did any air bag deploy.

"takata recall" my complaint is that I received a safety recall letter in July of 2016, and since have not received anything to follow up with it. My cover on the dash board over the airbag is warped and bowed up and I am afraid that this may also be a problem with this issue. If this is possibly another part of something with the airbag system why has it not been taken care of by now. Thank god nothing has happened, but I would truly like to get this resolved before it is to late and someone gets hurt . Please let me know what, if anything, is moving toward resolving this recall in the very near future. Also what I can have done to get my issue taken care of. I was told by my Ford dealer that there should be more info out in Nov or Dec. 2016 I have received nothing and heard nothing and it is now March 2017. Now accident to report. Just need some kind of answers. Thank you.

Takata recall. I received a recall announcement dated July 2016. My local dealer informed me again today 3/14/2018 that the part(s) are still unavailable. In a letter from December 2017, Ford states that no one is allowed to sit in the first row passenger seat. Please let me know why a remedy is taking so long and when I can expect this repair.
