Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the power train automatic transmission torque convector failed. While driving at 62 mph, and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle stated to studded and jerk. No warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that on another occasion the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted and started to jerk. The vehicle was taken to and independent mechanic and was informed to take the vehicle to a Ford dealer that a recall was associated with the vehicle. The vehicle was later taken to dick smith Ford of columbia, 7201 garners ferry rd, columbia, SC 29209, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,063. Aw.
Car began losing power uphill, and even pushing the gas pedal to the floor did not help. High pressure fuel pump was replaced at a Ford dealership, but the problem continued, and got worse. Eventually had to be towed to another dealership, where they fixed the problem enough to get home, although hills remained an issue (cruise control was set to 70, and even the smallest hill would cause the car to slow to around 40-45 mph). Car currently is sitting in my driveway because I am afraid to drive it. It might stall out in traffic.
The car stalled a few times wihile on my way home with no warning had to restart the vehicle so as I needed to accelerate or slow down the vehicle would start shudder and jerk as it felt like it was slipping out of gear no warning light was illuminated. I had to have vehicle towed to my house looked up issues it said it may be transmission so then I had the vehicle towed to a independent mechanic business and was informed to take the vehicle to a Ford dealer that there were 2 recalls associated with my vehicle the recalls were through the NHTSA vehicle safety reports. (power train) and (torque converter). However my vehicle was the 1. 5 version and was having the exact same problems as the 2. 1 version being covered through the vehicle recalls. Since my VIN was not included I did not have it repaired. They included both issues in the quote was over 6000 dollars but less if one of the problem. This was in June/2020 and the car had 97 k miles on it.
Car stalled after accelerating moderately hard into traffic from a stop and then quickly turning left into parking lot.
Vehicle has stalled out several times while stopped in traffic. It takes several minutes to get the vehicle started again. Took to Ford dealer and they stated if there is no code to read they would not be able to find out the problem.
Vehicle stalled while accelerating from a stop.
Car is a 2017 Ford Fusion sport 2. 7l ecoboost car stalled randomly. Drove for about 20 minutes prior to stalling. Was stopped at a busy intersection on a city street about to make a left hand turn, the car stalled and went into full accessory mode. Started the car back up afterwards with no problems. Car has 8500 miles on it. A car stalling while in drive is unsafe in the case of being on train tracks, stalling could be fatal. Can not be replicated and no codes thrown. With no codes, dealer has no idea what the issue could be. Several others (car experts, some ase certified) state camshaft position sensor could be the fault.
Upon decelerating, my car stalled in traffic. I was driving on a suburban city street at approx. 35 mph, and decelerated to a complete stop. Upon pressing the gas to start going again, I noticed the engine had shut off. This is extremely unsafe, as a car that loses power while driving could cause a crash. I have taken my car to the dealership for inspection.
In July 2017 I purchased a 2017 Ford Fusion sport with the 2. 7 v6 within 300 miles the vehicle stalled on a hill and the car started to roll backwards. I made an appointment and brought the car into the dealership I bought it from. They scanned the car and no codes came up and said there is nothing they can do without a code. I took the car and continued to drive it. It stalled several more times, brought it in again and no codes. They told me Ford would not approve any repairs on this vehicle without having a code and a confirmed issue. I've been driving around in a death trap that could kill myself or someone else and Ford won't help. I found on an online group other people have had this issue and have not gotten it resolved by Ford. There are other issues with this vehicle to. But the stalling is unacceptable. The lemon law for my state says I must let have the chance to fix the car to qualify but the is no trace left behind after stalling therefore Ford has nothing to repair. This vehicle is not safe to drive. Do not buy!.
