Fail To Accelerate problems of the 2017 Ford Fusion

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 10-20 mph, the vehicle started to decelerate independently. The contact checked and verified that the vehicle was in the proper gear. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate and stopped independently. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the gear shifter failed to shift out of park. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the shifter link bushing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
