Tether, Lower Anchor (on Car Seat Or Vehicle) problem #1

I have concerns about the safety and proper installation of my child’s car seat. The seat is installed in the rear of the vehicle, however I am unsure if the lower anchors and tether system are functioning properly or securing the seat as intended. I want to ensure my child is fully protected in the event of a sudden stop or crash. Additionally, I am reporting ongoing safety concerns with my vehicle related to open recalls. The manufacturer has stated that certain repairs should be completed free of charge, but the dealership has delayed or failed to complete the repairs in a timely manner. These issues raise concerns about overall safety and risk to occupants, especially a young child. The vehicle and car seat are available for inspection if needed.

Tether, Lower Anchor (on Car Seat Or Vehicle) problem #2

The lower latch/tether fails to secure the car seat. Any time that the lower latch is tightened for installation, it becomes loose within an hour of installation. The car and car seat were taken to the local fire department to be installed by a certified installer and it still came loose within a hour of installation. The lower latch will not remain sufficiently tightened and the unoccupied seat can move horizontally, laterally and vertically about 3-4 inches. The seat will loosen even when unoccupied by a child.

Tether, Lower Anchor (on Car Seat Or Vehicle) problem #3

The contact owns a safety 1st car seat, model number: ic261blbh, model type: onboard 35 lt, manufactured date: April 19, 2022. The car seat was being utilized in a 2012 Ford Fusion when the contact noticed that the latches of the lower anchor had failed and were not securing the base of the car seat after several attempts. The child was in the car seat at the time of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The car seat was not replaced.
