2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Consumer writes in regards to part of the inside door handle snapped off. The consumer stated he had to exit the vehicle, without the use of the indoor handle. The door handle was made of cheap, weak, poorly designed material. Also, at 39,155 miles, one of the front wheel bearings had to replaced.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. While driving at any speed, the vehicle made unusual noises. The noises increased at approximately 45 mph without warning. The vehicle was taken to east tennessee Ford (crossville, TN, 931-240-4121) where it was diagnosed that the front passenger wheel bearing was faulty and about to fall out. The technician replaced the wheel bearing assembly. Approximately two years later, the front driver's wheel bearing also failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the wheel bearing assembly was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that there was no recall. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
