The contact owns a 2015 Ford fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that upon inspection, an oil leak was found. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to several holes and cracks being found on the engine block. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Several times now. While driving the car (ac normally on), we will get to a full stop from driving (over ~40 min trips). . . Whether in traffic on a freeway or stop sign. . . The cars check brake system light will flash & beep, and the car will not accelerate. Neither the electric motor nor the gas/hybrid engine will engage and drive. Turning off and on the car does not reset it. . . It takes repeat effort and several minutes (once over 10 minutes) to be able to start up. Can't imagine if it were to happen on a freeway again with a child or my other half in the car! scary! took it to the dealership several times without any luck diagnosing or fixing the issue. . . We need a reliable vehicle this is insane. Now the car is out of warranty and doing it again. Ford nor any dealer shop can help fix this. They can't reproduce it, the issue is sporadic which makes it worse & more terrifying to experience. So far 4 occurrences within the last 4 months. About 10 + over the 3 years since we purchased the car new. The lights always reset by the time we make it to a dealer lot. Their systems cannot trouble shoot anything at that point! it happened again recently when parked for over an hour, after a 80 mile drive. When we went to drive home, it would not drive/accelerate. Same brake system light issue was popping up again. Almost had to get a tow, then all of a sudden it started back up again as the driver got to us.
The vehicle was traveling at 65mph on the interstate and suddenly a message light came on that said transmission not in park. The car suddenly cut off and I coasted to the shoulder of the highway and put the car in park and it restarted. It happened a second time on 9/2/2015. This time I was driving on the street doing about 40mph and I go the same message light(transmission not in park) and the car cut off. Again, I put the car in park and restarted it. I immediately took the car to a Ford dealer where it is not being checked out. I did go online and found a previous recall (14v736000; 14c11) for a similar but not exactly the same problem with this type of vehicle.
