Two days after getting gas my engine light came on. It stayed on for about a wee and turned off. This kept happening everytime I got gas s I took it to the dealership and was told sometimes the cap sticks and it's a common thing that doesnt require any repairs and they reset it. This happened for almost a year. I took it back and this time they claim I needed a new vapor management valve. Of course my car is less than 36,000 miles but the 3 years are up as of two months ago. I called Ford and they said it was covered under warranty because I had the problem before the 3 years. When I get to the dealership to pick up my car they want me to pay for the repair. I call Ford back and ask them to send an authorization number to the dealership and now all of a sudden it's not under warranty.
Ford fusion energi, did its low powered state again, this time on the free way, dropping rapidly from 75mph to 22mph and barely able to maintain that speed. The display showed the safety features becoming deactivated. Something new though, the headlights went out and the console dimmed and was barely readable, I turned on my hazards and I hope they where working, either way I was fortunate enough to avoid a rear end collision and got the vehicle off the road. This about 7th time Ford will work on the vehicle, and another week or more without a vehicle, waiting for the next available appointment. These fusions are becoming the new Ford pinto. I really hope that several people don't have to die, before Ford is forced to recall these death traps.
1) first issue happened 2/20/2017 odometer 7,036. Dashboard lit up, trac control, engine light, brake, message to pull over, loss of power and at freeway speed, got over shoulder safely. The onboard diagnostics system detected engine misfire, transmission related problems. Brought it in for service and couldn't duplicate issue. Nothing fixed or repaired 2) second time same issue happened 7/21/2017 odometer 15,736 going up a hill west bound on mccall, loss of power and almost got rear ended by a couple of vehicles. Vehicle is in service as I fill this out.
06/13/2017 - vehicle suddenly decelerated in high traffic situation when exiting highway 101 in los angeles. "check powertrain" warning and wrench light illuminated. Unable to accelerate to safe driving speed even with accelerator pedal pushed all the way to the floor. Vehicle went into "limp mode". Was able to get vehicle to nearby Ford dealer. Service technician reported that the throttle body assemply failed. Ford replaced the electronic throttle body (etb) per TSB. No prior notice or warning from Ford was ever provided that this is a common, and potentially dangerous, issue with the vehicle, and servicing Ford dealer made no comment to that fact as well.
After "service advanced trac" warning light on dashboard, speed of the vehicle drops on highway. Even though accelerator is floored, speed keeps dropping. Experienced twice this morning and yesterday on freeway.
Friday December 16, 2016 - 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid, 16,000 miles - while driving at 25 mph on a city street suddenly the "stop vehicle now" warning displayed on my dash. The vehicle came to a complete slow down and was in limp mode and I was able to get to the curb and stop. I shut down the engine because the manual only provided a vague explanation (may be due to an electrical failure,) and waited, I then restarted the car and was able to drive home normally. Now I don't have any idea if it will happen again or what is causing the problem. Driving it to the dealer on Monday.
