While coming off of an exit my right front passenger door flew open and I was almost in an accident because it frightened me as another car behind me had to brake as well to avoid hitting me from the back. I read up on this car and there is information statin the there are problems with the door lock/latches where you think your door is lock and it is not. Now I try yo close it, the door will not lock at all. I did not see a recall on my VIN but I not have to contact Ford because there is information all over the internet stating that is a know fact to happen on the 2013 and I believe the 2014 models. I also have an issue where the sync with my Ford does not work correctly. I am unable to use touchscreen because when I due I get an error message pops up on the screen saying something about the usb and power source and does not allow me to do anything else. I literally have to turn off and restart my screen.

Front driver's door failed to latch. There is no way to secure the door closed. This is a life-threatening driving safety issue and theft issue there is a recall already in place however my VIN falls out of the previously announced range. The recall should be reopened and expanded.

Vehicle was stationary, I closed the front driver door and the latch broke and the door would not stay closed. I had to physically hold the door shut while driving until it was repaired at a cost of over 400 dollars. I noticed this part has been recalled on the 2013 and 2014 models. Any chance that the 2011 models will be included in this recall?.

The hood will not open and it is jammed and nothing was wrong with it before, the pieces are cheap and they shouldn't break like that.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated that after stooping a red light and stepping on the accelerator pedal, heard a thumping noise. The vehicle was taken to an unknown independent mechanic that determined that all three motor mounts were damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 72,000. Bp.
3 years ago-battery failed and could not exit the vehicle at all, no warning. 2 years ago-plastic piece in door which allows the manual door opener to work broke, could not exit driver side door. 3 years ago - accelerator stopped working on highway, finally pulled over and restarted car and it worked - dealer said could not find problem. Rocker panels rusted out after 6 years - garaged indoors. Heating system failed - it took 1. 5 months to obtain parts and fix vehicle, I went to colonial Ford 5 times (and hour each way) because they said it was fixed 5 times in the 1. 5 months. 2018-10-25 - check brake system light came on - no brakes going 65 mph down a highway hill for 5 minutes. Police guided to a halt, restarted car and brakes worked. Made it home. Brakes failed 3 times the next day. Ford said they could not look at the vehicle for 3 weeks because they were so busy so I had to rent a vehicle. $1750 to replace brake sensors which they said could not communicate with the brakes. ?? first time Ford has been able to diagnose system.

Summary: I have two complaints. 1) takata recall, Ford sent me the notice in 2016 and Ford mechanic shop said that Ford had not made any replaceable air bags these past three years. I just called this week 8/13/18 due to another recall notice and again no airbags had been made. 2) door latch stop working and there was a recall on the Ford cars and many recalls that dated back in 2011, but not on the Ford fusion 2010? why? many owners had complained about the Ford fusion cars. See:last week's recall covers 389,585 2012-14 Ford fiesta and 2013-14 Ford fusion and Lincoln mkz cars. Ford says the door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a user latches the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it. Dealers will replace all four door latches. In March 2017, Ford recalled 213,000 2011-13 explorer suvs and police interceptor utility vehicles in north America because the spring that controls the interior door handles may prevent the door from latching completely. Ford said it was a different issue than the new recall. In January, Ford recalled 204,945 2010-13 taurus, Lincoln mks and police interceptor. Nhtsa upgraded an investigation into hundred of complaints of doors failing to latch or flying open into nearly 486,000 2011-13 fiesta cars. Nhtsa received 207 reports related to the problem, with 65 doors opened inadvertently while the vehicle was in motion. This is a serious safety concern as far as I can tell. Fusion 2010 should have been recalled for sure! 225 dollars to replace at the dealership because Ford "doesn't just sell the spring you have to replace the entire unit. ".
"Ford door latch recall" - having issues with door latches for my Ford Fusion Hybrid that were replaced during a recall (by another dealer). Issues have started since the recall, with excessive vibration of the doors, door ajar indicator coming on during motion and latest rear passenger door not closing , which have been brought up with my current dealer I have been working (with Ford thru) my current dealer for a number of months and finally had the front passenger door latch changed a couple of months back because of excessive door vibration and door ajar indicator coming on couple of weeks back the right rear door flew open during a turn, but I ignored it thinking the door was not shut properly, stopped the car safely at the side of the road and had the door closed. Last weekend rear right passenger door failed to close and has remained "un-closable" since, I had to tie door in with seatbelts and limp the car back home. Went to the dealer today and was told by them that door latch needs to be replaced and the cost of parts and labor will not be covered as the recall was past warranty (1 year). Called Ford customer support and was told the same. I now have concerns of the similar issues occurring on the other doors and the safety of the vehicle as a whole.
Driving on city street and passenger's door flung open when I made a right turn. I pulled over and tried to shut & lock door, however it would not latch. After researching found a recall on latch doors of this model Ford (recall reference #15s16), however my VIN # was not on recall. Contacted Ford dealership and Ford customer service and even though this exact problem was why the recall was issued, they would not honor the recall. With research I found that my vehicle was made in the hermosillo assembly plant which is one of the plants the faulty parts came from. I was charged $539. 99 to repair door. My car is only 4 years old and I believe that the recall should have been extended to me. I have never owned a vehicle that the latch malfunctioned like this no matter how old it was. I would like to have this vehicle added to recall so that I can recoup my money and have all the other door latches replaced for safety.
Rear passenger door will not latch when was park. Cannot close door.
When the battery instantly died, I was locked in the car and had to wait till the battery built up before I could remove myself from the car. The doors would not open. Recently, I could not get out of the drivers side door because the latch inside would not open the door, I had to roll down the window and reach out to open the door. The mechanic called Ford and they said they had many problems with the plastic pin in the latch breaking in many of the vehicles and commonly have to be replaced. This is unacceptable in case of an emergency.
Recalls not done after numerous dealer visits.
Back passenger door hinge rusted and just fell apart. Ford said to just leave it since we don't use that door very much at all.
Door latches were recalled and replaced March 2016, driver side door latch then failed beginning of April 2017 (one year and one week after they were replaced). It appears Ford's fix to the original recall was not a good one. Because it was more than one year past the replacement, I was made to pay for this.
The driver side door latch doesn't work correctly. I have to pull on the door and it take me about 5 minute for the door to lock. I'm having to go through the passenger side door to get in my car. The door has open slightly when I am driving. My car is not part of the recall of 2015 but the part to fix is going on 3 weeks in back order.
Drivers side interior door handle broke when I went to exit the car. This is a wide spread problem that has been reported frequently on the owner forms. Anywhere from 10k to 30k miles the handles break leaving with either outing the window down to use the outside handle to open the door or crawling out the other side. This could be a safety concern if you needed to exit quickly from either an accident, fire or other immediate problem. The replacement parts haven't been redesigned and brake after the same usage.
Hood latch failed; hood would not latch firmly in the closed position. This occurred when I opened the hood to fill windshield washer fluid. Hood was fully closed. I pulled the hood release lever under the dash and then opened the hood. When I tried to close it, the latch mechanism would not engage. Dealer tells me that the latch and cable need to be replaced - over $400.
Passenger rear door latch would not properly interlock, meaning door wouldn't stay shut. This happened in a stationary position when I opened the door to get a passenger out then I went to close the door, having the door bounce back to me. To note: a recent recall was administered due to faulty latches and I had it replaced at Ford in Feb 2016. . . 8 months later issue resurfaced, not cool.
I just went out to my car, got in, started it and noticed my door lock button was funky. Then went to open my door and it does not open, it is broken! I have to roll down the window and open it from the outside - not okay. I am the only one who drives my car and I take very good care of my car. I went to the internet and found lots of complaints about the door handle breaking. Is there a recall for a 2012 Ford fusion? I only saw one for the fusion starting in 2013.

Door latch recall. Last month (July 2016) the front passenger door of my 2013 Ford fusion flew open while we were driving. It would not close. We later learned Ford has recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles, including 2013 Ford fusions for this exact problem. We were told our VIN was not included in the recall. We had no option but to pay the nearly $500 cots of replacing the faulty door latch. Now, only one month later (August 2016), the rear driver side door of my car flew open and would not close, again due to a faulty door latch. My car is not even 3 years old, and I have spent nearly $1000 to replace parts that should last the life of the car. It is infuriating that this is a known problem, and Ford is doing nothing to help. I now have the option of spending an additional $1000 or risk having the other two door latches fail as well. The most disheartening aspect is the tremendous safety issue this problem creates, which makes my "choice" not really a choice at all. For the safety of my family or others who may be riding in my car, I simply must pay to have the other door latches replaced. I have made numerous calls to Ford, and they just refer me back to the dealership for assistance. The dealership in turn sends me back to Ford. I have been going back and forth with neither party showing any interest in helping to resolve this problem.
The driver-side interior door latch stop working and I couldn't get out of the car! this malfunction happened in a very mundane manner. As I was doing regular errands, in and out of the car on Friday, August 5, 2016, on my third errand stop, the door latch broke. I really didn't notice a "snap" or any kind of "breaking sound. " I don't know if the break occurred while I was driving or not. I was stopped/parked in shopping center parking lot when I noticed this problem. At first I panicked and was quite afraid. I called my boyfriend and he calmed me down and instructed me on how to simply roll down (electric) window and reach out and then open door from exterior. Then, he told me to roll window up by leaving ignition on and. This worked. So I been using my car like this until I could get it fixed. I did some research and learned of the thousands of door latch recalls on other Ford fusion models. When I called Ford they said my model year, 2010, is not included in the recall. I will only have to pay $100 deductible because repair is covered under extended warranty. I don't think I should have to pay anything since Ford knows they are having various door latch msl functions. This is my complaint. I close by saying that I have really loved my Ford Fusion Hybrid and considering getting newer or new model. However, I believe, given the thousands of problems with door latches, given the safety issues, Ford should replace them all. There is no attachment as a photo wouldn't demonstrate the malfunction.
My sunroof exploded outwards while I was driving on the highway. I had just left the beach, so the exterior was very hot and the interior was very cold with a/c running. I thought something had fallen out of the sky until I saw the glass was bowed outwards.
The rear passenger door latch failed and the door swung open while the car was in movement. The door still does not close and the latch will need to be replaced. Nhtsa action number ea15002 addressed this exact issue on similar vehicles, but my particular vehicle was not included by Ford on the recall that resulted from that action.
Rear passenger door not closing. This is the 3rd time this has happened to my vehicle!.
Fusion's power steering stopped working as I was turning a curve on a country road and I almost lost control. . Inside of the trunk's lid is rusting with only 15,000 miles on the vehicles.
The driver side door would not open when pulling the latch from inside the vehicle, the door would not open. The failure was recurring. The vehicle was taken to a Ford repair shop for replacement, driver only able to exit vehicle by opening window and using outside door handle. Vehicle stationery. Problem mentioned on internet by other drivers since 2006.
While exiting the vehicle, the left-front interior door handle broke on it's lower-left corner . Because of the breakage, the door will only lock with the interior door lock. Pressing the lock button on the key fob locks all doors except the left-front.
The door latch on my rear passenger door failed. The door will not latch and stay closed. There is a current recall on my car for this issue. In the recall Ford says that all latches must be replaced. Obviously I have defective parts in my car. The dealership tells me that they will only replace the broken part and not the other three doors because they don't have enough parts. That is not my problem. My problem is being able to travel down the freeway safely and not worry that my doors are going to fly open. It's unethical that Ford can know there is a safety issue and not address it in a timely manner. I wonder if anyone in the Ford family is driving a car with defective door latches. I bet not.
1. The 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid is equipped with a power point providing 110 volts alternating current (vac) to a 3-prong receptacle located in the rear seat area of the center console. The 110 vac power point is equipped with a safety cap and a safety twist tab that provide protection from inserting any object into the power point other than the 110 vac electrical device plug. 2. A child leaving our vehicle had a foot entangled with a 3-prong cord connected to the power point, resulting in disassembly of the safety cap from the body of the power point. The disassembled power point exposes two brass electrical contacts with 110 vac. A person attempting to reassemble the safety cap with the power point body while the engine is running may contact the high voltage contacts, resulting in a burn injury or death by electrocution. 3. The power point should be recalled and replaced with a similar device that cannot be disassembled.
Driving to work when all of a sudden it became incredibly difficult to steer and control car. I was veering at first to the left then to the right. I tried not to hit the person on my right and slammed on the brakes, which caused me to fishtail and hit the guy anyway. My rear driver's side tire was completely gone-only a rim remained. This car has barely 800 miles on it. . . . Scary and sad for the guy I hit. . . Me-completely spooked and very disappointed albeit grateful to be alive and not run over by oncoming traffic. . . :(.
At 38,000 miles just over the manufacture warranty had expired the driver's door inside handle no longer opens the door from the inside. The way you must exit the vehicle is to roll down the window and open the door from the outside which is a safety issue. If the vehicle were involved in an accident not an efficient or quick way to exit the vehicle. This is a common problem and Ford does not cover this repair even with the Ford esp coverage so you may want to consider that purchase. So I will pay for this repair along with many other owners of the Ford fusion, but it is quite apparent that; this is an engineering problem they chose not to address, and they do not stand behind helping customers who have this problem. My other vehicle is a Lexus, and when something breaks such as a seat latch while in the extended warranty I purchased, they fix it no questions asked, something for me to consider the next time I vehicle shop. I don't mind purchasing a new vehicle and paying for it for 5 years but would expect the manufacturer to stand by their product, and to address safety issues quickly.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician verified the failure and replaced the handle; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 12,626 and the current mileage was 19,000.
On may 9, 2013 at approximately 8 am, shortly after entering a two lane state highway driving my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, I removed my foot from the accelerator and brake my car to stop at a traffic light 6 feet behind a stopped 2007 Mercury mariner. While stopped for a few seconds, I removed my foot from the brake pedal and the car suddenly accelerated traveling approximately 6 feet, colliding into the rear bumper of the mariner. My fusion bumper slid under the mariner bumper crashing the grill and causing substantial damage (approximately $5000) to the front end and hood of my fusion. I am uncertain as to why the car accelerated. I had not had a similar experience during more than 50,000 miles of driving. It may be that the combination of the gas engine idle and/or the start of the electric motor may have caused the car to accelerate to a speed which was sufficient to cause the bumper to slide under the mariner's bumper. I have questions relative other similar events for Fusion Hybrids and as to why the bumper did not function as required by regulations to protect the car from damage when traveling at speeds of up to 5 mph. I have made inquiry of Ford relative to the safety issues , however they were not responsive in a phone interview, which was quickly terminated informing me that the legal department would contact me. I received a letter from Ford's legal department declining to compensate me, even though the compensation issue was never mentioned in my inquiry, and warning of the problems of litigation. I do not contemplate litigation. Have there been similar reports filed with your agency?.
