The wipers on the 2018 Ford fusion are incredibly slow even at the highest speed setting. Even in moderate rain the highest speed will not clear the windshield fast enough. In a heavy downpour even on city surface streets (35mph) the windshield barely gets cleared, you may have a tenth of a second to look through a point of the windshield to see in front of you before it gets covered in rain again, then have to wait over a second before the wiper arm comes back to clear the area. The highest speed on this car is comparable to the low speed setting on my f250 which is adequate for light constant rain.

The rear view backup camera fails. I have taken this vehicle to multiple dealerships totaling at least a dozen times for repair. The dealer has repeatedly been unable to repair this problem.

When I turn on the defroster, the air recirculator turns off. In traffic, this lets exhaust from other cars enter the car, so I either have to breath in exhaust or drive with a fogged up windshield. I can't have the air recirculator on and the defroster. I either have to breath in exhaust or drive with a fogged windshield. It's getting to be dangerous.

I noticed water dripping from the driver side dashboard onto my shoes while driving. When it rained, water was in the floor board and since I park on a hill, it was going up under the seat and saturating the back floor board as well. I had received a crack in the sunroof from a tree branch so thought the water was coming in from that problem. Took it to a collision center for them to tell me it wasn't coming from the crack but the windshield is separating! I also don't understand why there isn't any rubber seal to prevent this from happening. Very dissatisfied with this vehicle, has had over a dozen recalls, seems like Ford doesn't want to fix these issues. I've called and asked about all of these issues, someone was supposed to call me back, but we all know how how that turns out. As soon as I get these issues fixed I'll get a new car and it won't be a Ford!.

The vehicle temporarily lost communication with the climate control basically the touchscreen freezes and none of the buttons on the center console work. Unable to turn on heat or air conditioning. The windows lock and can not be rolled up or down. This has happened while driving down free way and also parked at start up. This occurrence has happened more than once. Sometimes the car will some how go back to normal after a day. The latest the vehicle has lost communication for 4 days. They say you can't leave a kid in the car while you go into a store, but Ford can make it where I can't roll my widows down while driving and I have 2 kids in the car and it's 90 out. Even more when it's winter time and the widow fogs up while driving there is no way to clear windows. To me it is a safety hazard to not be able to at least roll your windows down or up because an issue happens with the vehicle communication.
The brakes were making a loud noise the windshield light stays on, and the engine smells like it's over heating.
Sun visors do not stay in their seating clips. This causes them to fall into our field of vision unexpectedly. Also, when using them, they droop into our field of vision.

The design of these windshield wipers is a concern to me. In moderate rains, at moderate speeds (45-50 mph) visibility is poor due to the way the wipers move from outside to inside, leaving a large portion of the windshield "unwiped" for a longer period of time. However, today at freeway speed, there was a sudden downpour. My wife had the wipers on high, and there was nearly zero clear visibility through the windshield because of the way the wipers were wiping. She was fortunate that an accident did not occur. I did a quick search on the internet, and we are not the only ones to notice this. Something needs to be done to correct this safety issue.
Cannot see adequately in rain even with wipers on high speed.
When driving in torrential rain for long periods of time with the rain sensing wipers enabled and the wipers were wiping near their fastest speed and they just stop in the middle of the windshield putting me in a situation where I could not see through the windshield and I felt extreme danger as I did not know what to do as I was driving behind an 18 wheeler truck and could not see through the windshield any longer. I had to take my eyes off the windshield to turn the control off the wipers off and on again to get them to clear the water and go back to wiping as expected. The dealership replaced the control stick and that did not fix it then they replaced the control stick and the rain sensor and the dealership manager kendal said "that's all we're can do!" I believe that this is a software control or mechanical part breakdown or loss of communication to the wiper, but all the Ford consumer line suggested was that I could go to a different dealership! the wipers are even coming on when there is no rain after starting the car! this is a dangerous driver safety issue and Ford is not taking this serious because I an but one person reporting this. One of the service reps when I was in for the first repair said he had seen this on an explorer model.
