Four problems related to engine belts and pulleys have been reported for the 1996 Ford Mustang. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Went to dealer 11/99 about shudder- changed belts, etc. Still shaking- tear down 7/00.
Engine idler pulley noise.
Belt shredded or came off on several occasion causing loss of steering an braking ability.
Vehicle's fan belt broke 5 times and has been replaced, when this occurs driver loses control. This has occured between 4,000/6,000 miles.
