Hood Latch problems of the 1996 Ford Mustang

Three problems related to hood latch have been reported for the 1996 Ford Mustang. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Hood Latch problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2002

While driving the vehicles hood opened and flew off the vehicle. There was a recall related to hood separation.

2 Hood Latch problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2001

While driving 65 mph hood started wobbling, and then top layer of hood was lifted off vehicle and hit another vehicle. There was a recall on this component, but this vehicle not affected due to VIN.

3 Hood Latch problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2000

While driving on the highway hood flew off and busted headlights and the grill on front of the car. Consumer states that hood has two parts and the bottom part, where it latches, was still on the car, but the top flew off.
