Automatic Transmission problems of the 1999 Ford Mustang

Four problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 1999 Ford Mustang. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2000

When parking, vehicle rolled back when gearshift in park position. Vehicle continued to roll back after stopping and putting gearshift in drive. After tow and repair owner told the cable had become disconnected between the gearshift and transmission. It was reattached and security strap put in place. Dealer reported no knowledge of why it became disconnected.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2000

While driving along at any speed vehicle stalled . This happened more during stopping. When vehicle stalled, all power was lost, which made it very difficult to control vehicle. Vehicle has been checked by the dealership for this problem. Dealer was not able to locate the problem.

3 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 04/21/1999

Letter written for 1 1/2 years, cruise control cables not installed, lied about transmission.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

Two certified Ford delaers, as well as two independent mechanics have been unable to identify the problem. All four concur the problem is there, but none are sure how to fix it. Ford has been notified, and as of this date, has gone more than one week without responding to complaints through their web site. No summary listed for above vehicle.
