Engine will cut-out/hesitate under acceleration or during steady driving. Almost caused collision entering interstate highway. This is an on going problem not an isolated incident. 2005 Mustang gt with only 13,000 miles.
A valve keeper inexplicably failed on my 2005 Ford Mustang with only 41,000 miles on it causing the #4 cylinder valve to go into the cylinder and damage the piston and cylinder. End result need a whole new engine.
- the contact stated that while idling the engine would suddenly rev up to 2500 rpm. The 2005 Ford Mustang would then lunge forward, causing the vehicle to accelerate without touching the gas pedal. The contact stated that he has been experiencing this failure since he purchase the vehicle. The contact currently has the vehicle at sheltz Ford and this is the first time he has brought it to this dealership, but took it to four different dealership trying to fix the vehicle's malfunction. The dealerships stated that there isn't anything wrong with the vehicle and that he might be driving the vehicle incorrectly. Updated 1/29/2006 - when the vehicle was taken to the dealer they informed him that the high rev would go away and that it was a normal break-in condition.
