I have done all my airbag recalls and the light came on a few months ago and is steady flashing. Called cresent Ford in high pint and they looked up my VIN and my car replacement history. They told me it had been replaced but it was still under warranty and to make an appointment to have it looked at. Made an appointment, which I may add I had to take the day off and drive 40 mins one way, I was told by doug that I had to pay for a diagnostic test because it may not be the airbag and they refused to look at the car until I paid for a diagnostic test. I continue to receive airbag notices and if I was told on the phone this was under warranty. If there are problems in the past with airbags and in the future, we have problems why should this not be covered and looked at by Ford at cost to them to run a diagnostic test. This is absurd. Had this happened to me 3 months ago I never would not have purchased a 2010 Mustang if this is how you do your customers for your defective parts. Also went to pull the parking brake up, which was passed inspection several times, and the brake does not work. This is a big safety hazard.
Just got it don't know what's wrong with it.
The car stalled while cruising at highway speeds. Needed to pull over to without power steering or brakes and restart the car. This is not an isolated incident. . Read more...
Engaged parking break on 5-speed manual car overnight. Following morning after cold weather (below freezing), started smelling the emergency brake and noticing smoke wisps coming from rear tires after driving for roughly 5-10 minutes. Friction burn occurred on both rear disc brakes. Rear driver side disc developed a crack through the disc which required replacement. Discs had >1000 miles on them at the time. Lost braking ability and e-brake would no longer engage so unable to park on any incline until fixed.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang gt convertible. The contact stated that after the ignition was started a cable detached from the emergency brake when depressed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 48,600 and the current mileage was 49,000. Pmb.
The e brakes freeze and wont release so the e brakes in the winter are useless if you use them, you are stuck.
The car was coasting and then just completely turned off reducing steering and breaking ability at least 50% until I could come to a complete stop, turn off the ignition, then restart it again. Since then this has happened at least 5 times, 4 in the last week! my totally trustworthy mechanic did a diagnostic test and found no failures besides the fact that the fuel gauge hasn't worked in years, the speedometer doesn't always tell me the speed, the gas tank shuts off before filling up, the head lights and interior lights have stayed on after turning off the car and hasn't turned off after it's rained. The rpm seems to be the problem for why the engine turns off when they are too low. There used to be a jerky problem during acceleration when the car would shoot forward then back off a couple times before returning to a more steady acceleration. I would consider this vehicle a complete lemon and threat to the safety of me and anybody else on the road but since the warranty period is over and it's been taken to a mechanic I don't have any other options besides reporting it to you, I really wish there was some way this problem could be solved and I'm certain many other owners of this same vehicle are dealing with the same problem.
My brakes started making a noise so I decided to get them checked. The dealer said my emergency cable had slipped and fell on my rotor and split it. They had to replace both cables,my back brakes my rotor, flush out my brake fluid and replace it I called the Ford contact number and the person I talked to you took the information down and ask if I thought Ford should be responsible to fix my car I said yes because I researched online and found a lot of 2005 for Mustangs that have had problems with their emergency brakes and cable. I think there needs to be a recall on this. Some of the people that have had this issue states the Ford puts out an internal memo but will not recall it. No at my dealership can explain how this happen. When I picked my car back up I asked is there a way I will know this will not happen again they said these cable have better rubber on them. This makes me think that the ones put on the 2005 Mustang were not good so they made new ones better. So this is why I think this needs to be recalled so no one else will have to go days without a car.
I have a 2005 Mustang that the parking brake has frozen on 3 times since 2006 and on another occasion had the parking brake cables hanging down by the rear tires. The parking brake cables have been replaced twice already.
My dates and milage may be off. I purchased my Mustang used at a local dealership with the warrenty and extended warrenty and about two months later my back wheels locked up on me. I pulled into the Ford company and they took a look at it and unlocked the wheels charging me $70 saying it was not covered under the warrenty. I was told by the tech that the emergency brake cable had froze up causing the tires to lock up. I was told that this was not covered by the warrenty and it would cost by close to $600 to fix. The gentleman told me at that time to file a complaint with Ford because it should be a recall. I did file that complaint back then and nothing ever became of it. I never had it fixed because I do not have $600 and therefore I do not use my e-brake which is dangerous! I have done some research and have found that others have the same issue with there car. This should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that all of the gauges on the instrument panel stopped working and water was leaking under the passengers side floor board. The parking brake also became stuck and the cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician verified that the water was leaking through the engine compartment but was not able to determine how to repair it. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 110,000.
