Ford oem part no. : 8r3z-7210-c - shifter assembly automatic console shiftier blind may bind up in the track or break completely like mine did. This can cause difficulty in the shifter going in to gears or park, or show proper p r n d 3 2 1 selection on selector. A broken blind can allow things to fall down into the gear sector, that could cause gear selection or park not to work properly. Stationary or moving I don't see how this is a this is a unsafe condition of the part.
