Eight problems related to wiper have been reported for the 2007 Ford Mustang. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2007 Ford Mustang based on all problems reported for the 2007 Mustang.
The vehicle has experienced repeated and ongoing electrical system failures, including chronic battery drain that causes the vehicle to fail to start, erratic hvac operation where controls do not function as intended, and persistent water intrusion into the doors and interior areas. The hvac malfunction has resulted in the inability to properly defrost or defog the windshield while driving, significantly impairing visibility and creating an immediate safety hazard. These issues appear consistent with failure or corrosion of the Smart junction box (sjb) or related electrical control components. Replacement Smart junction boxes are unavailable through both Ford and aftermarket sources, preventing proper repair of the defect. The electrical instability and water intrusion present a risk of sudden loss of vehicle operability, impaired visibility, and unpredictable electrical behavior while the vehicle is in motion, creating a safety risk to the driver, passengers, and others on the road. The issues are recurring and reproducible.
Leaking water from inside of dash compartment and my carpet is all wet when it rains.
Approximately 1 year after purchase (new 2007 Mustang convertable), the original rear view mirror was replaced with an oem part #6u5z17700ba. A few years after dealer installation, it began to vibrate very badly; however, the dealer stated they could not stop the vibration. Approximately 2 months ago, while my wife was driving the car, upon a smooth asphalt roadway, the clip that holds the mirror onto the windshield bracket, separated and the mirror fell off the windshield and dangled by the wiring connection. I have attempted to reattach the clip to the mirror, using superglue or jb weld; however, the repair does not last more than 2 or 3 weeks. The dealership body shop stated the mirror cannot be repaired, because the retaining clip cannot be permanently rejoined to the mirror.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that every time the vehicle wa started, the actuator made a clicking noise and there was no air flow therefore the defrost or heater failed to work, making the vehicle impossible to drive. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that all three actuators needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. I had to make an emergency trip in my car in August in heavy rain on a mountain. As I traveled the wiper motor began to make a very loud & sickly noise. And the wipers' were functioning poorly or stopping completely. I made it to my destination having been able to get the wiper blades' to work again after they would stop & not work. Coming back home down a steep downgrade on a mountain the rain began to pour very hard & suddenly water starting pouring into the passenger floorboard & the windows' fogged & the wiper blades' stopped all together. I had 3 vehicles' behind me on a steep mountain. After managing to find a place to stop on the side without being able to see out at all & waiting out the worst of the rain. I then took my car to the Ford dealership & they indicated I had three inches' of water under the hood & the wiper motor was in need of replacement. I had this repair done at a cost of $418 and no indication of what to do to keep this from happening again or any other info. I studied this issue on the internet & discovered that this has happened to a lot of Mustang owners'. Certain model Mustangs' you can find cowl covers' to cover the windshield wiper area which is what the problem is. The holes' in the cowl & around the wipers' are large enough for debris to fill up the ventilation system & then the water has no where to go but inside the car. Also the plug under the hood is small and has no real capacity to drain off large tree debris or other bits' and pieces'. I have contacted Ford motor CO. Today because of my ire over this & to find a way to avoid this repair again and today they indicated nothing could be done for a refund or a cowl cover or other solution. They recommended some windshield wiper blade covers'. I think this is a very dangerous and costly and a poor real world design for this car or any car. I park under no trees'.
Noticed one day that my rear window what foggy looking while driving to the point you can not make out shapes or objects. Cleaned the vehicle thinking it was dirty but not in this case. Had it looked at and I was told that it was distorted from bad material or not put together right. It is still a factory window and Ford refuses to do nothing with it. Now I am having ac problems, warm air blowing on the driver and semi cool air on the passenger side. Had freon put in twice and after a few weeks does the same thing again.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated whenever it rains water would leak from underneath the dashboard on the passenger's side which resulted to an accumulation of water on the floor. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. Js.
There is a water leak in the front of my Mustang, such that when it rains water comes through onto my feet. Due to the structure of the car allowing water to flow in areas that it should not, this caused water to ruin my windshield wiper motor. I had it replaced and my car looked at by two different mechanics who could not find the reason for the water flowing into my car and onto my windshield wiper motor. Today, as I was driving in the middle of a rainstorm, my windshield wipers stopped working again, and the motor was shorted out by the rain water. I see there is TSB out for this car and structural issues causing water to flow in the front, but twice now I have been driving in a rainstorm and unable to use my windshield wipers. This caused difficulty seeing while driving which I feel is a very serious safety concern. The water damage has caused me to pay for not only two windshield wiper motors but it is also causing mold/mildew in my car interior.
