My passenger door latch pops open nearly every time I drive on the highway. The latches were previously the subject of safety recall 16s30. I had my vehicle inspected by a Ford dealership. No repairs or work was deemed necessary at that time. In the years since, my door now comes unlatched. Infrequently at first and now with very alarming frequency. Safety recall 20s30 was issued specifically to address these inspections and recalls being completed ineffectually. Somehow my VIN has been left off of this recall even though it was on the 2016 one. The dealership is trying to charge me nearly $2000 to fix a known safety issue. This seems unreasonable, unfair, and extremely dangerous.
I was driving down the highway with heater on and defrost. All of a sudden I hear a pop and my car started bogging down. I exited the highway to get out of danger, it then had a wrench light ( transmission) pop up and when I parked the car on the access road it started smoking a lot. I turned the vehicle off immediately and when I seen smoke coming from under the hood and into the cab of the car. I lifted the hood after seeing fire in the passenger wheel well. And then in the engine block towards the windshield in the middle of the engine. I am a fire fighter and it appeared to me that the fire was being fed by some kind of substance. Fort worth fire department showed up and put the fire out and took a report.
While driving, I attempted to depress my clutch pedal in order to bring my vehicle to a stop. My clutch pedal only went halfway to the floor. I was able to force it down to the floor using a higher than usual amount of force. After bringing my vehicle to a stop I inspected my clutch pedal and found that it had side to side play resulting from a cracked weld where the clutch pedal was welded to a shaft on the clutch/brake pedal assembly. Upon further research online I discovered that other owners of similarly aged Mustangs have had identical issues to what happened to me.
The weld that holds the clutch pedal broke causing the clutch pedal to not engage properly. Driving in traffic during a down shift stop almost caused an accident. Which led to not being able to shift gears which left the car unable to drive and left the stranded on the side of the road. The weld that hold the clutch pedal in place is insufficient and weak. While researching this issue I found many instances where this has happened to other drivers.
The passenger side door will open by itself. This happened twice within the last month with a passenger in the seat and once with no passenger. The warning lamp will come with an alert to say that the passenger side door is open. This puts the safety of those in the car at risk of falling out, or possibly an accident if the door completely opens. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by anyone. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
Ford is refusing to repair the rear camera wiring defect. The dealer attempted multiple times and Ford is refusing to replace it, instead the dealer is asking for $1000 dollars.
Door lock not secure. It has happened a few times, usually on the highway, where the passenger side door has opened slightly while driving, causing the opened door light to come on. The door is visibly cracked opened, but it is still locked.
There is a well known evaporator core issue with the Ford Mustangs/trucks that were produced between the 2015-2017 models. Freon leaks out of the evaporator core due to poor build quality this creates a white film on the windshield of the vehicle that makes it hard for drivers to see. This happened to me when I first bought my car and I could have crashed but was able to safely pull over and clean the windshield off. This film buildup can happen at anytime and also releases an unpleasant order into the atmosphere that should not be breathed in and is very harmful to the environment. Ford is well aware of this issue and decided to avoid doing a recall to prevent the company from losing money. I am also having an airbag issue on my Mustang this one is current. I have not been in any accidents or driven the car in anyway to make the light come on. The drivers side airbag light is on and is indicating that their is an issue with my airbag system. This is a huge safety concern and I don't want to wait for something to happen for either of these issues to be fixed. The ac issue is new for me with Ford but out of the 4 Mustangs I have owned 3 of them have all had recalls for an airbag issue. The first was my 2005 v6 base model. The second was my 2010 Mustang gt. And the third was my 2014 Mustang gt. This is now my 4th Mustang and still having air bag issues. Please do something about any of these issues if you can. I am sure numerous of other people have experienced what I am experiencing. I have even done research and seen forums that are over 150 pages long regarding some of the safety issues mentioned in this message. Please and thank you very much.

The rear view camara has stopped woking completely rendering it unsafe when backing up.
The rear view camera randomly became unavailable after starting the car. Restarting the car did the fix it. In my online research, it is said that the cause is a faulty wiring harness that Ford used between 2014 and 2017, which would affect my car (2015).
Backup camera image quality.
Door latches manufacturer recall number: 20s30. Nhtsa recall number: 20v331. & rear view camera manufacturer recall number: 22s06. Nhtsa recall number: 22v082.
Having difficulties to get our vehicle repaired by Ford motor company. Two out of three safety recalls for our car have not been solved. Attempts for arranging services have been made through online scheduling at our local dealership, as well as through contacting them by phone at different times, but still no final solution is been granted. First, door latches: manufacturer recall number 20s3 & NHTSA recall number 20v331. And second, rear view camera: Ford recall number 22s06 & NHTSA recall number 22v082.
Door unlatches while on highway. Incident has been occurring sporadically during my husbands commute to work. However we both drove vehicle out of town on 5 hour road trip and it unlatched 4 times on 4/15/23 and 1 time on 4/16/23. Vendor says this VIN is not covered by recall for same issue. Online forum suggests this is happening to other owners for several model years of similar Mustang convertibles.
Hello. I'm waiting for the repair, but I have booked this car as part of my business and provision for my family. How can I know when it will be repaired? Ford has to fix it. Regards rafael fernandes USA&br deal llc.
My vehicle is often showing a "service advancetrac" warning, another warning that the hill start assist is disabled, and simultaneously the antilock brake warning light and the seatbelt warning light on the dashboard will light up. When this happens, the traction control shuts down and steering becomes more difficult. It seems to be a sensor malfunction or a problem with the powertrain control module, which would be consistent with NHTSA campaign no. 22v382, which was issued for newer model Mustangs.
Touchscreen is dark. Tried to reset by pressing the radio on button and forward button the same time, checken all harnesses and connectors. Everything fine. Apparantly the apim module failed.
Backup camera doesn't work. Received a recall letter from Ford but when I brought the car in for repairs they checked it and got it working. Three days later it again stopped working. They said that even though I received a recall letter from Ford the backup camera is not covered by the recall.
Evap core has a small leak, which Ford is aware of being defective…. This causes a small leak of freon/refrigerant to enter the cabin thru the a/c vents in the vehicle while driving and can cause some dizziness and you can loose focus and can cause an accident.
Back in 2019 I took my car to legacy Ford in mcdonough georgia to get the recall issue for my door fixed. Someone told my husband that it was fixed. I'm riding in my jobs parking lot and the door fly's open. The door will not close. When I called legacy the guy was not concerned and told me that the recall issue was not fixed. He told me that I could bring my car in on Monday. I have to work and need the issue resolved. I will be contacting an attorney on this.
Advancetracservice light, hill assist not available, check engine light is on, driver selection light comes on. I've taken it to the dealership and they cannot find the problem, but steering wheel and car was temporarily inoperable and turning the steering wheel was almost impossible. Suspension is off as well.
1. Trunk would not open. (we had to get this fixed so we got it fixed. ) the wiring to the trunk was broken. Without a trunk that opens the convertible is pretty useless for anything but driving. Luckily we didn't have groceries inside when it stopped opening. I did call the Ford dealership (the 1st one) and was told to use the key to get it to open through the seats. The wiring was broken. Thank god no child had gotten in there! 2. 3rd brake light was not working. (we had to get this fixed so we got it fixed. ) this is a hazard with a lower car. Other cars don't see you stopping without this feature. 3rd brake light is also on that wiring harness and was fixed at the 2nd dealership. 3. Back-up camera stopped working. (we wanted to get this fixed however, the cost was more than we had at the time. ) it needs to be working. A person can see behind to back up. This is a safety issue for certain! we were told we would need to get another camera as it was also on the same wiring. This is a problem for backing up with a convertible that has a small window. If the top is down in good weather I can see, however,. . There is more driving done with the top up. 4. We also have had a problem with our heated/cooled seats. We were they were not on the same wiring. But, could be fixed for $$$. This was started last spring/summer. (2021) we have written Ford motor CO. And they said there weren't problems with any of these items and they wouldn't be fixing them. Yes, there is a problem with them and they should be fixed.
The passenger and driver door open (ajar) occasionally at freeway speeds. It has happened 6-7 times since February.
This car has been in the shop and repaired almost every year since purchase for the same part/problem. The evaporator assembly has been completely replaced twice. The first time was 6 months after purchase and only 9000 miles on the car. The most recent time this part has went out, 11/23/2021, the cabin filled with smoke while I was driving. Smelled like a camp fire so I was concerned the car was on fire. I believe if I hadn’t pulled over, the car would’ve been engulfed in flames with me inside. This is a definite safety concern, and wonder why there has been no recall on this part. Especially if the car can actually catch fire. No check engine or warning lights appeared. Just a cabin full of smoke. Ford is now saying it’s the evaporator assembly, again, and it will cost $2600 to fix. I feel this should’ve been fixed the first time. This is an ongoing problem with this car from what I’ve read and believe Ford needs to do something about it. How many lives should it cost? mine is worth more then $2600. Should be an easy fix for a multi billion dollar company!!!.
Outside of car always smells of antifreeze, not sure where from, don't see a leek. Car sometimes feels like it stalling.
As I was driving on the freeway, out of nowhere my car started losing gas power which almost caused me to get rear ended. Later on that night I almost lost full control of the car when it lost power since I started swerving. Through out the night it continued to lose power and then the "hill side assistance" light came on notifying me that it was not available/functioning and my break lights would not turn off at all, even when the car was off and locked. I took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. Then I took it the a mechanic which he was able to temporarily fix it but it was not a permanent fix. We had to create the part, as the Ford company did not have it anywhere. If I would have been on the street I would have lost control and who knows if a pedestrian could have been walking, it could have ended tragic. This is something that needs to be review and fix by Ford company. This is a severe safety issues, it seems not only my car is having the same issue but other Ford Mustangs as well. Since the dealer did not have that small piece, they attempted to sale me the entire part which was $500. Not every one can afford the entire part, and for a small piece which should cost no more than $20 that can cause injuries should not be ignored.
In October 2021 I attended my sisters funeral in dallas TX while in the parking lot I went to back up and backed into my sons vehicle. No insurance claim was filed but I did pay out of pocket for the damage which was 2800. 00. At the time I was unaware of the safety recall. My car still has no reverse camera clock or temperature reading and tpms system is failing as well. Last October I took the car to johnston Ford in new boston texas. They kept the car for two and a half hours and fixed nothing. I repeatedly call back and always say they will return my call but to no avail. Please help I am lost without my reverse camera.
Driving in town when the front passenger window began to continually drop about half inch and close again. When I got onto the highway the front passenger door unlatched and the 'door open' alert displayed. This happened several times during one driving trip. I stop and reclose the door and take off again. This has happened several times during different driving trips. In the meantime the window continues to go up and down. That tells me that the door in not latching properly. My VIN number does not appear to be included in the 20v331000 2015 Ford Mustang recall dated 2020-06-07 as I have not received a recall letter from Ford.
I was driving on interstate-95 in washington, DC going about 55 mph in heavy traffic. Without warning my car lost acceleration and the car almost immediately slowed to approximately 35 mph, despite my foot still being on the accelerator--pushing on the accelerator did nothing. Then after several seconds, the car sped up again, but when I reached around 40 mph, the car lost acceleration again for several seconds. It kept doing this over the course of my entire trip, which was about 5 miles. I had to pull in the shoulder lane driving with my hazards flashing. After I parked my car and turned it off, I noticed my brake lights were still on. I googled the issue, and the source of the problem is a faulty transluscent plastic/rubber brake switch stop pad (that is connected to the brake pedal and when the brake is released the brake switch stop pad pushes in the brakeswitch turning off the brake lights), which broke during my trip. I found the broken pieces on my floorboard (I took a photo of them and kept them). Because the car senses that the brakes are still being applied it cuts power to the accelerator. This was highly dangerous on the interstate and it broke with no warning. Fortunately, it didn't cause an accident. While reviewing the fix (Ford doesn't sell the replacement part; instead they want you to replace the entire brake pedal for about $500) on a Mustang owner forum, numerous people echoed the same problem with many having it occur while driving. The fix involves buying a $5-10 part from dorman which is made for another vehicle.
Ac stopped working, evaporator coil was leaking, it is located under dash so repair requires excessive labor charge. Cost was $2500 for a $100 part. Online there are many reports of this deflective part. My car was out of warranty so I had to bear the entire price. This is not fair.
The Mustang has a problem with its hvac system. The a/c needs to be serviced constantly making the reliability of these cars come into question. These are conveniences every driver needs in their car. I'm going to return my 2015 in 1 year for a car with a reliable ac unit. A Toyota or Honda.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-65 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. The VIN was not available.
My drivers side door will fly open while driving with no warning.
The a/c is not blowing cold air. It seems to an issue with Mustangs 2015 and up. It blows air but it is not cold. This is the second time that this happened.
