A part of the air conditioner system called the evaporator core fr3z-19680-c required replacement and the repair work to access the unit requires that the dashboard be removed to gain access. Vehicle had 53k miles.
A/c evaporator on 2017 Ford Mustang defective with only 33,000 miles on the vehicle. I spoke to Ford corporate about the problem and they refuse to help in any way with the $1,500+ repair because the vehicle is out of warranty. I mentioned to them that they know of the issue because they put out a technical service bulletin, 18-2256, on Aug. 21, 2018 for poor air conditioning (a/c) performance in 2015-2017 Ford Mustangs. I was told "too bad, should have purchased extended warranty. " I feel that if there is a known issue a recall should be sent out to fix the issue in stead of the customer having to pay for the repair.
