Recall.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at 63 mph, the steering wheel was guided to drive forward, however, the steering wheel independently steered to the left direction. The vehicle independently accelerated and crashed into a concrete road barrier. The driver's rear and the driver's front area of the vehicle were damaged. The side air bag deployed both the passenger and driver. No injuries were sustained. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven away from the crash scene. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an unknown steering part failure and the rear driver-side wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
