Automatic Transmission Control Module problems of the 2019 Ford Ranger

Mileage is at 86980. I have been having issues for a good 10k miles that are slowly getting worse. Transmission is slamming into reverse from park. Shifting is slow from 1st to 2nd gear. Has begun revving engine but not engaging. I have had the transmission fluid changed 3x and flushed and changed the last time. No leakage or overheating. I do not drive her hard, off road or tow. She always gets warmed up before driving. My mechanic believes it is the pcm.

The transmission "bucking" during speed acceleration. This causes the vehicle to DE-accelerate before accelerating to desire speed. Problem: programimg of the pcm for the transmission. According to the data collected on the Ford forum this problem affects all Ford Ranger for 2019 models.

2019 Ranger went into limp mode in traffic at the worst possible time. Error code appeared and referred to transmission fault at roughly 38k. Was taken to Ford and I was told pcm just needed updating. By 45k the transmission was right back to shifting rough with sudden shifts jerking the truck. Called Ford to say hey it’s not right still. It’s continuing to downshift from 10th gear at 65mph instantly down to 3rd gear nearly ripping the transmission out. Every Ford dealership within 3. 5hrs from me all told me the same thing. “we are told to say it’s normal for the 10r80 to do hard shifts. Ford knows they are a problem but want issue a recall, the only thing you can do it blow up the transmission while your under 60k warranty so they have no choice but to replace it. ” now at 80k I’m screwed and have to spend nearly 8k to fix the transmission Ford said was fine.

My vehicle transmission skips second gear going from gear 1 to gear 3 when accelerating from a stopped position. Issue cause jerking and a clunk when gear catches. When this happens, vehicle will temporarily stall until gear catches putting driver and passengers at risk of collision if turning at intersection, proceeding through 2-way stop intersection, or on hills/ on train tracks. My vehicle has never displayed warning lights on the dash. I had the vehicle inspected at a Ford dealer. Dealership was able to replicate the issue. Dealership related they flashed the tcm, but it did not resolve the issue and recommended replacement of transmission or rebuild. Vehicle is at 62,000 miles and is barely out of warranty. Air bag malfunctions and not active passanger and driver side, hvac malfunction replaced twice, power train shifting out of gears, pcm malfunctions and triggering failures to sensors. Passanger seat belt not working. Collision sensor malfunction and not working.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated, and the transmission was shifting hard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the tcm was reprogrammed, and various fluids were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 951.
