Engine Stall problems of the 1996 Ford Taurus

While traveling at approximately 30 mph in city traffic vehicle lost all power when engine stalled. Dealership examined vehicle, and determined that head gasket needed to be replaced at consumers expense of $1400. 00.

2 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/15/1998

Ongoing problem with engine stalling during deceleration. Vehicle has been in dealer shop and independent repair shops on six occasions, and problem still reoccurring. Stalling mostly occurs when driving on a down grade while slowing, consumer states vehicle will not stall if the air conditioner is turned on, nothing comes up when vehicle has been hooked up to diagnostics computer to find out problem.

3 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/27/1998

Engine experienced intermittent stalling problems. Qcaw.

4 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 05/20/1996

Engine stalls.

5 Engine Stall problem

While driving vehicle and without warning engine stalled. Dealer has been notified. Mechanic stated frozen plug needed to be replaced.

6 Engine Stall problem

Consumer complained about engine stalling problems. It only happens when driving at no more than 10 to 15 mph. Dealer was contacted as well as the manufacturer,l and nothing has happened so far. Ts. . .
