Eight problems related to brake foundation components have been reported for the 1997 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway and another vehicle jumped in front of him. He went to apply brakes and pedal went all the way to the floor. Dealership was aware of problem.
Brakes locking up. Nlm.
Whenever the brakes are applied, it would have high idle & acceleration. Would have to keep foot on brakes to maintain stop. Had taken to dealer several times for high acceleration & idling, but problem is never found.

While driving vehicle about 35 mph the consumer stepped on the brake pedal to stop vehicle, according to consumer, the vehicle stopped, but there was a lot of vibration on the steering wheel. The consumer had taken the vehicle twice to dealer already, and she will take it back one more time the next day.
Was traveling aproximately 10mph when front suspension started squeaking. Had part of the braking system replaced prior to suspension squeaking.
When appyling the abs brakes on wet pavement the pedal trvaels to the floor, causing extended stopping distance. Please give any further details.
