Three problems related to defogger have been reported for the 1999 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer states while driving and running air conditioning or heater and strong "petroleum" type smell emits from the vents. Consumer advised that it does not smell like exhaust fumes. Nlm.
A realy bad smell is coming from the vents when the heater is on took it the dealers to have it checked they could smell it but could not figer out why it smelled still not fixed.
Rear defogger/defroster does not work when needed, causing poor visibility. Consumer has contacted dealer, but they have not found anything wrong.
