My 2001 Ford Taurus engine stops working after driving for a while. On several occasions it stopped while driving on the highway. There are no warning signs. This can be a very dangerous situation esp on the highway. The engine starts on its own after a few hours.

3 Engine problem

The vehicle caught on fire while driving. The consumer viewed smoke coming from the dash then from the hood area. Scc.

4 Engine problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2001

The vehicle is equipped with adjustable pedals. The pedals are so close together that when the consumer applied the brakes, the engine would surge as if it wanted to continue in drive and not stop. The last incident the vehicle surged to the point consumer could not stop the vehicle. Vehicle was stopped by a fence.

5 Engine problem

Flexible engine mounting twisted beyond length of vacuum hose that is connected to power brakes, causing total brake failure. Please give any further details.
