I have a recall on my 2001 Ford Taurus for front coil springs. It is still on my VIN number from 2004. I just recently purchased the vehicle in 2013. I have been have problems with my suspension and steering for awhile. The Ford dealer says that I don't have a recall on my vehicle. I need it fixed because it is a saftey recall that wasn't fixed in 2004.
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus that I bought a few months ago and I've noticed that after being exposed to rain or a good wash there's a damn pool of water on my passenger floor inside the cabin. The water seems to be going through the cabin filter compartment or around there and it went right to the a/c blower motor. From the research I've done a lot of people have the same damn problem. This is clearly a manufacturer's defect and should be repaired by Ford not by me or anyone else with the same problem.
Car accident -- deer hit front passenger side -- damage to hood, light, small bar inside hood. Air bag did not deploy. I was informed that air bags do not deploy on all accidents. Car was totaled due to age and mileage on vehicle, but it ran well. Had all of the front end looked at to be sure that I could still operate it, so kept the vehicle. Feb. 10, 2014 I had gotten an oil change at walmart. Also had added coolant. I noticed on the Wednesday (2/12) that the car had smoke coming from under the hood when I parked the vehicle at the same walmart. Took it back to the automotive department the coolant level was completely gone and had to take it to an independent business to have a number of items replaced - water pump, oil gasket pan, new oil and coolant added and a few other things. Was told by the independent that walmart should have informed me when I had gotten the oil change that there was a problem. Also Dec. 31st, I had two tie rods installed (outer if I recall correctly), then I happen to notice on March 13th my front tires seemed low. Went in and was told that I needed two new tires and suggested a wheel alignment (which this company did not do). Took it to a tire company and they informed me that a ball joint and one inner tie rod needed to be replaced. The February and March incidents happened while I was out of town (father in hospice and death).
Traveling at 45mph suddenly the vehicle did not respond to throttle, rpm's jumped yet no response from the transmission. I can shift into any gear and the vehicle acts as if it is in neutral.
Approx. Mid-may 2008 noticed coolant smell in car and water on the passenger side floor inside 2001 Ford Taurus wagon. Within a couple of weeks, ac blower motor only worked on high. Took to sherwood Ford in salisbury, MD end of may 2008 for repair. They replaced resistors to blower motor and stated problem was due to corrosion from water damage from leak in windshield/cowl. Blower worked fine until August 18, 2008 started working only on high again. Took back to sherwood Ford 8-25-08, they are currently replacing resistors again and state that blower motor should be replaced too because it is not working up to par due to water damage. Internet search of Ford Taurus cowl leak reveals many other people owning Ford Taurus/Mercury sable have the same problem and Ford will not issue recall. I cannot afford to replace the blower, if it goes out altogether then a dangerous situation could develop due to inability to clear the windshield of fog, etc. Referencing complaint numbers 10184014, 10189897, 10195320, 10205290. Called Ford motor company customer relationship center on 8-25-08 and was told there is nothing they can do to help with repairs for this known defect.
My son advised me to send this to you. Our 2001 Ford Taurus was in our garage when our garage caught fire and burned in February. There didn't seem to be any reason for the garage to burn. I was advised to let you know that the case was in the garage when the garage started to burn. We have pictures.
