2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2019

The brakes are dangerous and the warning lights stay on all the time. The undercarriage is messed up, I've had to replace several front tires due to unbalancing issues and popping noises when driving straight and on even roads that have gotten worse. I had a bad head on wreck and the airbags did not deploy. I'm concerned they will deploy at any moment.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2018

After exiting the highway, braking to stop a red light, the car proceeded to slowly accelerate on its own. After letting it go for a while, it topped out around 52mph, as if the cruise control was working on its own. I kept pressing off, but that wouldn't work. The car stopped revving rpms when I put it in neutral.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2015

On August 5th, while driving north on hwy 378 the car starting slowing down as if to stop, then it completely shut off. We were driving about 30 mph at the time. After shutting off I continue to try and get it to fire up but it didn't until 1hr. Later. After reaching my destination, I waited 3 hrs. To crank but, I couldn't. I've replaced new fuel pump assembly and gas tank, along with a new filter. I did all this and the car still won't run. Frustrated, please help!!!!!.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2015

When it gets cold outside, the door latch becomes stuck and the door will not latch and close properly and the door flies open. The passenger door latch will do the same thing. So you have to drive holding the door shut until the door latch/sensor decides to unfreeze. This is a serious safety hazard because you may think the door is shut because the sensor light goes off and then you start to drive and the door flies open. If you look online, several model years from 1997 and up of the Taurus have experieced the same thing as well as the Mercury sable and a few other older Ford models. I just read online that they recalled 2010-2013 for door latch issues. Please make them extend the recall for older Ford Taurus before somebody dies or gets seriously injured.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2014

My 2004 Ford Taurus accelerated on its own quite a few times. After goggling the problem I saw that there had been a recall. I called Ford & was told my car wasn't included in the recall. They also told me to get it fixed because it could be dangerous. I know that because I was almost in a few accidents because of the sudden acceleration. I'd have to pull over, if not at a red light or stop sign, put the car in park & hit the accelerator a few times. I actually had to turn the car off & back on once to get the rpms down. I had the cruise control cable totally removed. The cruise hadn't worked in yrs. My mom owned the car before I did. I'd like to know why my Taurus wasn't in the recall.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2014

This has happened to me a couple of times already. I was driving behind my boyfriend we where headed to his house, and my car started accelerating at a fast unusual pace. He stopped in front of me at a stop light, and as I was pressing on my brakes there was a couple of loud clunks coming from inside my engine. I was just riding my brakes, luckily the car was able to slow down and come to a stop. When the light turned green, it was behaving normally. I've looked this up, and noticed that this was a recurring problem with almost all models of Ford Taurus. Yet there is no recall? I hope you realize how dangerous this problem actually is, and I hope that something is done about it soon.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2014

I was driving through a parking lot on March 17, 2014 in the late evening. My foot was not on the gas or the brake as I was trying to let my car slow itself down when I realized my car was not slowing; it was speeding up. I looked at my speedometer and I was cruising through a parking lot at 45 mph. I then applied the brakes and realized the rpm's were staying above 2,500. At this point I started to panic a little since I felt like I was fighting my car as it wanted to accelerate and as I was getting closer to lots of parked cars and a building which screamed accident. I drove it around the parking lot with the brakes on hard and I decided to park it far away from other cars. Once in park the car revved up to over 3,000 rpms. After it did this I decided to shut it off. Thinking that maybe it would reset itself I turned it back on and it revved up once again past 3,000 rpms. I decided I shouldn't drive it anymore. The next day, March 18th, I had my car towed and taken to an auto shop, where they told me that it was the cruise control cable that became detached. They reattached it which hopefully fixes the problem. When I returned home, I found online that I was not alone other Tauruses were having this issue and that a recall could be possible. I searched on Ford's website and nothing on my car had been recalled. I am sending a letter to Ford to see what they have to say about this issue. Hopefully this issue is resolved because I would not want this to happen to anyone else or to me again.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2014

I was trying to stop for a red light. The engine rpm suddenly increased and when I pressed the brake the rpm kept increasing. I shifted from drive to park and the rpm still kept increasing. I finally pumped the gas pedal while in park and the rpm went down. This happened again about 20 minutes later when I accelerated after being stopped at a light.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2014

The car jumps when stopped at a light. You have to leave plenty of room between cars or it will jump into a car. Also, we have had to replace the alternator and battery several times. The alternator was 3 times and the battery 5 times. All of the sudden out cruise control went out and after that is when the jumping started. Hard to start and it jumps while idling in park as well as all other gears. Transmission replace 4 years ago.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2013

Two different times the throttle has gotten stuck. Both times almost causing my daughter to wreck. Purchased it used from a certified dealer just about two years ago.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2013

Went out one morning, cranked the car and the engine was racing and would not slow down. The engine sounds like it is going to blow up. It is revving up around 3000 rpm and will not slow down. I have to constantly use the brakes to keep the car from going too fast. I tried to tap the gas pedal but it does nothing except rev higher. Some kind of cable had fallen off and a friend of mine put it back on, but now I think it is off again. The car has made me feel very unsafe while driving it and I do not have the money to get another car.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2009

When door closed test light with mileage won't show???.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2006

Water on floor of front passenger. Blower not working. Mold and odor on carpet, motor blower corrosion. Took to Ford dealer and they replaced the blower motor and aa control, sealed cowl and installed rainhat extender.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2005

Car started racing and driving without putting foot on the gas pedal at all. The racing only stops if the car is put in park and one guns the engine a few times. This happens mostly in the summer months and has happened every year since purchase of the car. Ford claimed throughout our 7 year warranty that there was no problem found. Warranty has expired, but problem hasn't.
