1 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2020

My engine light is came on. At first it was reading that my fuel pump was going bad. I've recently replaced my fuel pump and now my engine light is back on and its reading two different codes. One is a leak with my gas cap. The other one is eletrical. My car has cut off me as if I've ran out of gas and I wasn't really out of gas. When I have someone come and bring me gas in a gas can, while pouring the gas in its leaking right out as if my thing isnt connected or I had a line thats cut. My gas meter isnt working properlu either and when I put my car in reverse all of my lights turn on and when I put it in drive they cut off. My stereo freezes and cuts on and off.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2020

The car will stall while driving or in park. We have put 2 new fuel pump modules in it and now it is doing again, needing a third replacement. It has 111,000 miles on it and the last one was put on just 6 months ago. There is a recall for 2013 Taurus for the fuel pump but it doesn't show my VIN as being covered by the recall. This is dangerous. It just shuts off the engine while you are driving. I have seen other complaints that are exactly the same issue. It happens while driving and parked at any rate of speed.

3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2020

The fuel pump on the car.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2020

Vehicle brought in for non start issue. Fuel driver module replaced on 06/25/20. Now my sync is inoperable after fuel pump repair.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2020

2013 Taurus limited with 71,300 miles would randomly stall only like 3 times though. I would have to restart it to continue on. But on 3/3/20, I was was ready to leave work and my Taurus would churn but not start. The light panel and headlights came on and the battery was not dead. I had to leave it in the parking lot overnight. The next day I had to have it towed to a Ford dealership. I had done the research so I knew what the problem was so I let the dealership know. Sure enough, the fuel pump module needed to be replaced at my expense of $341.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2020

The 2013 Ford Taurus was stalling intermittently and taken to the garage where the diagnostic code showing up was p0627, which points to a fuel pump module failure had occurred. This seems like the same issue as shown in NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 but did not include my 2013 Taurus and seems that it should have. Summary from NHTSA campaign number 16v621000: Ford motor company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford Taurus, Ford flex, Lincoln mks and Lincoln mkt vehicles equipped with 3. 5l gtdi ecoboost engines and 2013-2015 Ford Taurus police interceptor vehicles. A component within the fuel pump electric module (pem) may overheat causing a loss of electrical power to the fuel pump. Ford recall number for this was 16s31.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2019

Fuel pump control module failure. Vehicle stalled in traffic. No warning. Would not restart. There was a recall on this same issue, but my specific VIN was not included.

8 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start automatically on the first attempt. During the second attempt, the vehicle cranked, but was not turning over. The contact used the key to start the vehicle; however, the vehicle was just cranking. The vehicle was not towed. An independent mechanic came to the contact's residence and diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact called paul cerame Ford (11400 new halls ferry road, florissant, mo 63033, (314) 838-2400) and informed them of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 (fuel system, gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

9 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2019

Vehicle occasionally would stall at intersections or traffic lights; eventually the car would not restart at all. I had towed to Ford dealer in knoxville TN where they diagnosed the problem as the fuel pump, which they have replaced at $905 plus tax. I read for recalls and came across 16v621000 which completely describes my car's problem. The vehicle has only done 125,000 miles. A fuel pump should not have issues with mileage. Please can you help me obtain reimbursement. In two occasions a car nearly hit me from behind as I was stalled.

10 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2018

I went to mall came out and car would not start. Towed to webb Ford next day and mechanic said fuel pump electric module (pem) overheated causing loss of power to fuel pump. A loss of power to the fuel pump will cause the engine to stall or prevent the vehicle from starting, increasing the risk of a crash. Cost to fix was 400. 00.

11 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2018

My first problem was the fuel pump. The second was the power steering. Now I am having an engine problem that I am waiting on a mechanic to check.

12 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2018

While driving my car would cut off. It would try to start but not turn over all the way. After a couple of hours the car would restart. I took the car to the dealership to find out it was my fuel pump control module. Which I see has been recalled in other vehicles like mine.

13 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2018

The driver side and passenger side door locks do not work with the key fob. At times they appear to be locked, but are not. This occurred after a recall where the interior door handles were replaced. It did not do it at the dealership so it could not be fixed under warranty. Now my car will not start. It started, then died and it cranks, but does not start. Eventually the battery dies. It acts like it is not getting fuel. The fuel pump assembly was replace (13s04) in July of 2014. There is a recall of the fuel pump control module (16s31) for cars 201301015, but mine is not one of them. It should be!.

14 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2018

My car was parked , I went to start the vehicle and it just cranks , the engine never turns . I'm told it's the fuel pump and that my car had a recall for this issue but my VIN doesn't show up in th search for a recall .

15 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle had to be towed to an independent mechanic and the fuel pump was replaced. Richmond Ford Lincoln (4600 w broad st, richmond, va 23230) was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 (fuel system). The manufacturer was also contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 85,251.

16 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2018

My Taurus stalled at a red light, the engine turned over, but would not start. I was in the middle lane of a very busy road. I was towed to a nearby service center. They had to replace the fuel pump control module and fuel pump and hanger with sender. It turns out that Ford had a recall for 77,502 2013-2015 Ford Taurus's for the fuel pump electric module. This part was overheating causing lack of power to the fuel pump. I talked to the service manager, victor hyer, at coconut point Ford, estero, FL and he in a very unprofessional way told me that it wasn't their problem, I needed to talk to Ford customer service. I had talked to them on numerous occasions starting 7/11/18 for my power steering failure, that Ford had recalled over 400,000 cars including 2013 Ford Taurus's (safer car complaint number 1112315) they would not let me talk to anyone above the level of supervisor.

17 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2018

Engine stopped running without warning. Would then crank but not start. Diagnosed the fuel pump relay as the problem. Removed and replaced and car started. Removed part was on recall list for different model Taurus and the Ford cars but not mine (2013 Ford Taurus sel). I received no recall notice. Ford fuel pump relay part number aa8a-9d412-CA with supplier p/n d7790045-0c was oem on my car. This part is listed as faulty on the Ford web site but not for my car model and I received no notice. This is a very dangerous failure mode.

18 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2018

Vehicle drove fine with no warning of any issues. Started car, drove from 1 parking space to the next and the engine died. Car would start but on stayed on for a few seconds, then stalled out again. Tried this over and over again, realized it wasn't going to actually run. Took it in to Ford, they diagnosed it having problems with the fuel pump module. I have seen several recalls on fuel pump modules in specific 2013 Taurus models, but mine isn't included.

19 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2017

My car wouldn't start and took it to the shop and learned it was the fuel pump control module that went bad this also caused the fuel pump to go bad and need replacing.

20 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2017

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred several more times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The contact believed that the fuel pump electric module was the cause of the failure and replaced the module himself. The contact spoke with bob-boyd Ford (2840 n columbus st, lancaster, OH 43130) who stated that the VIN was likely not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 193,000.

21 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2017

Fuel pump module malfunctioning causing vehicle not to start.

22 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2017

Won't start. Cranks but won't start. Fuel problem. Misdiagnosed as battery in may 2017. Misdiagnosed as battery again in June 2017. Now same issue in July 2017 & waiting to see what crap Ford tells me today. I have replaced the battery twice in 2 months based on the diagnosis that is obviously incorrect. Looking online, I'm finding I'm not the only unhappy 2013 Ford Taurus owner with this problem and other people have had to have a fuel module replaced. Of course when I tried to explain to my Ford dealer that I really didn't think it was the battery (especially a month after I replaced the battery) & that it seems to be a fuel pump problem, they told me people try to diagnose their cars all the time & I was wrong & that's what the code said so that's what it was, so I agreed for them to replace a one month old battery, I mean after all, it was my Ford dealer & they would know better than anyone, yeah right. I have 85,000 miles on my car & it appears to be in the mileage range when other people encountered this issue, based on the research I'm doing online. Now for the third time in less than 3 months, my 2013 Ford Taurus is in the shop with the same issue. This car left me stranded 8 miles from home the first time, 50 miles from home the second time, and 30 miles from home this time. I have kept up with all of the routine maintenance on the vehicle.

23 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2017

When vehicle is stationary ie stop for a light or a stop sign the r. P. M on occasions drops from 600 to less than 500 rpm and it start to shake, if if I am not aware it will stall. What worries me is that on a trip of less than 5 miles it stalled on red lights and stop signs the same has happen to family members. I have taken to the dealer and nothing is found ( also took it to a private mechanic the same result was given) . Same year Taurus have been having fuel pump problems but my VIN is not register, lot of frustrations. This occur mostly in city driving ant the moment not on open roads, highways.

24 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2017

The fuel pump module failed in my vehicle. Upon research published reports state that over 465,000 Ford vehicles of the same year were recalled for this and replaced with almost 80,000 of them being the Taurus model. I believe this part should not have failed at 44,000 miles and should be covered under the recall.

25 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2017

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the technician could not find a failure; however, the purge valve was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle failed to start a second time. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed, and the "check fuel pump module circuit" code appeared. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

26 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2017

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. When approaching a stop light or stop sign with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle shook from front to back. In addition, the vehicle stalled and failed to start, the steering wheel shook each time the vehicle started, and there was a burning odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the 02 sensors failed and the fuel pump had a leak. Both components needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

27 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2017

Takata recall 2013 Ford Taurus. . . It's only February of 2017 and I have had this problem three different times this year alone. The car starts very very rough. Half of the time it doesn't start. The vehicle has stalled on me while in motion going down city streets. It has been in the shop twice this year to repair/find the problem. Still no results. Even when the car does start I am afraid to drive it because it will and has stalled on me in traffic. Automotive shop told me it was a bad fuel pump relay. I paid to have that replaced. Not even a week later, only six days later the car stalls again. I took it back to the shop where they got it running again for free. But only temporarily. Couple weeks later at the most and I'm right back to where I started. Car will not start. If it does start it will stall immediately once I am in motion. This vehicle is only three years old and there is no excuse for it not being on the road. This is safety hazard. I cannot comfortably drive my car to and from work without worrying about it stalling and getting rear-ended. It will not be a good day when this causes an accident.

28 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the fuel pump module malfunctioned. The vehicle was diagnosed as needing a new fuel pump. The vehicle was repaired, but the issue recurred. The car is now getting a new fuel pump module. This is the exact nature of the most recent recall involving this car. Owner states they are not included in the recall. They have filed a complaint with Ford. They say the more people who complain the more people with this issue, the recall maybe expanded. Mileage was 80,000.

29 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2016

Car stalled traveling 75 mph down a busy interstate. Initially felt like a transmission issue. After getting the car off the road it continued to run with a sputter. It would not drive without dying. Car was towed to nearest Ford dealership for a repair. Post inspection the 2013 Taurus was diagnosed with an open circuit in the fuel pump control module. Fuel pump control module was replaced. Vehicle was not included in the recall number 16v621000. Parts were inexpensive, labor was not.

30 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While the vehicle was stationary, the fuel pump module malfunctioned. The vehicle was diagnosed as needing a new fuel pump module. The vehicle was repaired, but the issue recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 63,000.

31 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The failure also occurred while the vehicle was idling. In addition, the vehicle would sometimes not start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

32 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving about 30 mph, the vehicle shut down, without warning. The vehicle was towed to the christian brothers automotive granbury dealer (817-776-4212, located at 3809 e u. S. Hwy 377, granbury, TX 76049) where the technician performed a diagnostic test and replaced the fuel pump relay. A month later the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who replaced the fuel pump module. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was 35,653. Fe.

33 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2013

On Saturday, Aug 17th, our 2013 Ford Taurus police interceptor (sedan) VIN:1fahp2l8xdg123321 was stopped at a place of business and turned off. Initially, the vehicle would not restart. After a few minutes the vehicle started but would not move. The vehicle was removed from the premises by a wrecker and taken to griffin Ford CO in thomasville, GA. This date, Aug. 22, 2013, I spoke with a serviceman at griffin Ford and was told that the front wheel axle had broken and that the repair part would be back-ordered (placed on an emergency need basis), but no repair time frame could be given due to the fact that there were no replacement parts in the country. We have had previous problems with both of our (above VIN # and VIN:1fahp2l81dg123322) 2013 Ford Taurus police vehicles with the problems previous to this being excessive gas fumes within both vehicles (fuel pump was replaced before recall was issued on both cars but after receiving recall, fuel pumps were again replaced), check engine light was on (evaporative emissions solenoid was replaced, air bag light was on, seat belt sensor was bad and the buckle/sensor was replaced. All of these issues have occured this year. As you are aware, all repairs take time and we are especially concerned about the time frame to receive and repair the wheel axle. Have there been other reports of this type of problem? looking forward to a response from your agency. Diane h. Causey mayor, city of coolidge, GA 229-346-3551 - phone.
