Failure Date: 03/15/2023

Without any warning or warning lights the electronic power steering system failed, and the turn signal will not remain on unless held manually (new problem that started when the power steering failed). It is very hard to turn without it, and I am a strong man, it's nearly impossible to turn with one hand so the turn signal can also be operated. Only 39000 miles on the vehicle.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2020

Was pulling up to a stoplight in town, the in dash lit up with "electric steering assist fail" and my steering wheel stiffened up as if I lost power steering, I stopped, cycled the key and the power steering returned. There was no prior warning or in dash lights to this incident. A week went by with no incident or sign of trouble. Was reversing out of a parking spot 7 days later and the same problem occurred. I cycled the key again, and the problem went away. I just left the Ford service center and and they pulled the code c200d:49. Since the latest incident, there has been no problem. I declined the repairs as they were $2200 and I know Ford has recalled previous years of my vehicle for the same exact problem.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2020

Back up camera glitches either upside down, all black, or blue. Saying visit dealership. This effect the sensors when backing up. Multiple people have this problem with the 6th generation Ford Taurus. When you go to the dealership they tell you it's a $250 part with a additional $50 labor. Ford knows this is a problem, I personally think it should be recalled.

1. When taking a sharp turn, the front bucks and makes a hard knocking noise. 2. The climate control turns on and off intermittently. Is terrible in really cold weather. No heat for and extended period of time. Vise versa in the hot summer.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2019

On 31 October 2019, I was backing my car into my garage and the car steering locked up and made it difficult to move the car. A warning message appeared, and I called the dealer to describe the problem (I. E. Gave car warning and could barely turn wheel of car). Dealer told me to bring the car in to be checked. Because dealer was close to my job, but far from my home, I had car towed to a local repair shop. I was told that the rack & pinion needed to be replaced. I was told a few 2013 cars had the same issue, but no work has been done on any other 2014 Fords. I was also told there are no warning signs for the issue or any preventative measures that can be taken. The car had 97,653 miles when issue occurred. I paid to have the work completed since no recalls are currently listed/associated with my VIN and this mechanical steering issue. I paid a total of 2,208. 13 for the repairs related to the issue (replacement of part, labor & recalibration of the part).

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the vehicle would not immediately start and on random occasions while driving the engine would suddenly stall. The cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer carmax(16110 north fwy, houston TX) who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000. Jft.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2019

Sometime in March 2019 my car didnt want to start. It had been parked over night at my house. I tried to start it and it just kept turning over but no start. I called the dealership and they had it towed to the dealer. I was advised that it was the battery. I was charged about $185 to buy another battery. The car was working fine until may 2, 2019 it was parked at my place of employment and had to leave it there over night and have it towed the next morning to the dealership. The wanted to charge me $400 to get it replaced. My arguement is I could of saved $185 on a battery that didnt need replacing and 2 months later they wanted me to ditch out more money. I had to arguement with them for several hours. Till the manager said that they will take care of the cost. But it shouldnt had lead to that. I know several Ford Taurus have been recalled but not my VIN number. I dont understand why when they are all Fords Taurus 2014 and they are having the same problem. I wouldnt of spend $185 on money I dont have to spend.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2018

Driving 40 mph power steering went out almost causing crash off roadway. After regaining control, moved to shoulder. Turned off car, turned on car, then was ok. Then happened again when leaving work - sensors on and no reset this time. Had to carefully limp it home. Tried replacing fuse for steering - but didn't work - will need to go to dealer. Just went out to get picture of codes - but it's working again. Something is terribly wrong electrically!.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2017

Fuel pump control module failed causing engine to stall and not able to be restarted. Fortunately at the time I was at the side of the road idling, however I was 5 minutes away from getting on the highway. Parked car, and purchased replacement fuel module from Ford dealer and able to get car running again. Ford has issued recall 16s31, however my '14 Taurus with a naturally aspirated 3. 5l is not included in that recall. Part number of the module is aa8a-9d412-CA and supplier code doesn't appear to be one of the stated suppliers that is ok to use. Supplier code appears to be -oc. See attached photo and compare to information supplied in recall 16s31. Replacement part is p/n aa8z-9d370-b. Dealer cost with tax for the part was approx. $70.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2017

Car engine shut off while vehicle was in drive on the freeway, twice this hads happened. Causing me to coast with little to absolute no control over the acceleration/speed of the vehicle, again bother times car was in motion on the highway going approximately 65mph. Car sits and cools down after a time passes approximately 15 -30 min and car will start back up. All electronic components work as far as dash, lights, radio, etc. Please note there is a similar recall of the same make and year but different trim. . . Also the complaints are very similar.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2017

Takata recall. The started modular has an issue. It will crank and not start, 7/8 of fuel. Push start engine. New batteries in remote. Car was parked and I attempted to start with both the fob and direct. Had to get it towed. Now costing almost $250. Mysync report had no indication. Neither did any lights on the dash as a warning.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2016

Was in the parking lot at work preparing to leave and started the car up and the battery light illuminated and displayed check charging system. The steering wheel was locked up and wouldn't budge. I turned off the ignition and turned it back on and the car was able to move and I drove it home. Will be taking it to the dealership today.
