Two problems related to exterior lighting have been reported for the 2015 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2015 Ford Taurus based on all problems reported for the 2015 Taurus.
An electrical or computer component failed, frequently causing my rear back up camera to go out. I couldn't tell that both of my headlights to stop functioning at the same time (because all of my interior lighting adjustments were still functioning, and because I was in a well light area initially) until I was on the highway, after dark, with my child in the vehicle.
The visibility provided by the head light assembly (high and low beam), is less than the standard for night driving conditions and almost non-existent when making turns on dark roads. High beams are the equivalent of dimmed low beams when driving at night. I tried replacing oem light bulbs with sylvania hid ($112 each) despite the fact that hid light bulbs are already standard on the Ford Taurus, with no results. There are plenty of forum discussions regarding this issue with most everyone agreeing on a head assembly flawed design. I noticed this issue after purchasing this vehicle (new) from a Ford dealership.
