The contact owns a 2019 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound. Additionally, the message "key not detected" was displayed while the fob key was inside the vehicle, and the rearview camera displayed a blank image while reversing. The contact stated that the dealer had previously replaced the manifold, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who determined that the manifold needed to be replaced for a second time, and an unknown module software update was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

2 Back Over Prevention problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while in reverse(r); the rear-view camera displayed a blank or distorted image. The contact later received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v611000 (structure) and 25v695000 (back over prevention); however, the part to do the recall repairs were not yet available. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer have been made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

3 Back Over Prevention problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that on several occasions while in reverse(r), the back over prevention screen was black. Additionally, the blind spot warning indicators on both mirrors became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred approximately a year later. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was determined that the system needed to be updated. The system was updated but the failure reoccurred 2-3 days later. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,866.
