My family and I were given a defective child car seat when we rented with budget rent a car. They have stickers on the inside windshield that mentions that all children under the age of five must be seated in car seats. The car seat was defective and we were not offered another one, thus putting our one year old child in a safety hazard. I have sent three certified letters to budget, but no response. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife amy l dykman has owned a 2001 Taurus for almost 3 years. We have not received any notifications of manufacturer recalls. I checked the website and there are nine recalls that could affect our car, some having to do with the child seat, which is very concerning to us. We are both young professionals and loyal Ford customers with family who work for Ford, but the fact that I have to find out on my own there are recalls makes me question the follow-up and integrity of Ford motors CO. Please notify us if there are any more recall and/or issues we should address. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,
adam g. Dykman

I have a 1996 Taurus sedan. During a car seat safety inspection the officer advised us that the arm rest in the back seat could fall down during an accident, causing serious injury to the baby in a rear facing carseat. This was overlooked by the first officer. We purchased a new car seat and went back and the officer noticed this, so we put the carseat by a door. However, they say that the middle is normally the safest place for the baby. If there was something that you could do to make sure the arm rest wouldn't fall down this might save problems for someone else who, like us didn't even notice this could be a hazard.

While installing a child safety seat, the locking clip pierced the seat belt. I don't think that a lap belt only should require a locking clip to secure a child safety seat anyway, but since this one did, I really think that there is a problem with the belt since it allowed a locking clip to pierce it during installation.

Difficulty in obtaining tether anchor from dealer. Part has been on order for 4 weeks. Ford customer service was unable to assist.
I recently purchased a graco booster seat for my son. After struggling to install it for almost an hour, I now understand why 85% of car seats are installed incorrectly. . It's impossible to understand the manufacturer's directions, and people give up! they think, "nothing will happen, I'm a good driver". This is a terrible attitude for people to take when it comes to their children. Also, they don't mention in the directions that two people are needed to properly install the booster seat. I only found this out by calling the manufacturer for help. Luckily, with the help of a patient customer service representative, I got the seat installed correctly.
