Back up camera it’ll work when you start to back up and then all of a sudden it just stops working it’s been doing this often for about month.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera displayed an upside down or blank image. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 25v315000 (back over prevention); however, the model and VIN were not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Backup camera fails to work. My Lincoln dealer confirmed but cameras are on back order. This camera is used in multiple Ford vechiles and recalls have been issued for some but not my 2016 Ford Taurus.

I was backing up in a parking lot when the backup camera suddenly inverted and I nearly ran over a small child. It now only works about 40% of the time and usually the image is inverted or scrambled. This is dangerous. I think Ford should fix it since apparently they have approved a recall on other models that apparently have the same camera system as my car.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the rear-view camera failed intermittently when the vehicle was shifted into reverse(r). There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the back over prevention camera needed to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 69,574.
