One problem related to tailgate latch has been reported for the 1997 Ford Thunderbird. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tailgate door latch got stuck in the open position, making it impossible for the door to shut. Also, once it was shut, door latch became stuck again. Dealer has been contacted.
