The contact owns a 2013 Ford Transit Connect. While attempting to start the vehicle, there was a whining noise coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. The contact turned the heater on and it blew cool air. The contact turned off the engine, checked under the hood, and noticed that the engine oil and antifreeze were mixing together. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact would not start the vehicle because he was concerned for his safety. The contact had a mechanic diagnose the vehicle and was informed that the engine oil was mixing with the antifreeze and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer informed the contact to call NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
